    Plugin Suggestion

Sadly, my capabilities barely extend to installing plugins, but for those of you with both the ability and the time, howabout a plugin that alerts you to a RAID problem through the SB interface?

Thoughts are along the lines of an alarm call that plays 'The Funeral March' (or something equally appropriate).

Or could that plugin that alerts you to emails be adapted?

The idea came to mind when I heard about how an IT manager had explained to his boss that two disks in their RAID 5 array had died at the same time (causing the loss of a month's data), "because they had been bought at the same time" ;-)

I don't think you'd need a plugin to do this. I'd rather do a cron job
checking the discs, which triggers some action in slimserver using the
CLI. This should be easier than writing a plugin.

A more likely cause would be IT Manager incompetence!

No spare drive in the array? No back up, *for a month????*

    Sheesh,

    I know, I know, I know ...

I'm not sure about the CLI idea - looks like you have to start a telnet session and wait for responses and things.
