    Video and Audio

Is there any reason why a Squeezebox set up for the stereo and a video set up for the TV using something like the D-Link MediaLounge DSM-320 Wireless Media Player wouldn't work? The Dlink doesn't support as many file formats for Audio and has no screen of it's own but might work with a TV well for video or surfing the net. I really want something that will allow me to surf the net on my TV while at the same time not conflicting with my Squeezebox set up on the stereo. Anyone have such a set up?

Looks like DLinks unit will not allow surfing the net only playback of media files.

Like you, I wanted access to the player via my TV as well. So I
got a small computer with an S-Video output that I connected to
my TV and I run SlimServer on it. I use an RF Gyration mouse
and keyboard for navigation. When my Squeezebox is playing I
have it show the Status Header so that it displays album art and
tag info. Obviously since this is a computer you can use it to
surf the net although I only use it for my SlimServer
exclusively (I hate surfing the net on my TV because I only have
a 32" standard TV and you don't realize how much better the
resolution of a PC monitor is over a CRT television until you
try to watch your computer on TV.)

The downside to something like the D-Link is the lack of a
display on the unit itself. I don't like the fact that a TV is
not optional, you must be connected to a television to use the
unit (as far as I can tell.) Since the unit is designed to
stream video as well as music D-Link probably assumes that
anyone who purchases one will have it connected to a TV anyway.

It looks like I misunderstood your question. You are wanting to
use a Squeezebox and D-Link together. How would these conflict?
I don't see any reason why you couldn't use both. As you
mentioned it won't surf the net. For that you need either a
setup like mine (computer with a TV output) or something like a
WebTV appliance (I don't know if there is a WebTV device out
    there that also streams media.)
