An item in "Advanced search" is different from other fields. "Path" is not a tag in the files but an element in the LMS database. Would it be possible to do a search in this field with several terms rather than just one? This would undoubtedly solve many of the search problems encountered due to the tree structures chosen.
I hope Michael Herger will consider this possibility.

Except for rare collectors whose recordings are perfectly tagged, it must be exceptional to put all your albums in one music folder without subdivisions. These subfolders allow a form of free custom classification.
With a path of the form
Music/Folder 1/Folder 1.1/.../Folder 1.n/Album/Tracks
the complete path almost certainly contains all the necessary identification elements for a search (unless it is constructed without any logic).
Classical music fans regularly complain in all forums about the rigidity of the tag system and its inadequacy for this repertoire.
With for example .
Music/Beethoven /Piano concertos/Brendel, Haitink,RCO
.............................................../Brendel, Levine, Chicago
.............................................../Brendel, Rattle, Wien
.............................................../Pereiha, Haitink, RCO
if it was possible to mention several search terms in Path,
by entering : Beethoven Piano concertos Brendel I could see the 3 Brendel recordings
by entering : Beethoven Piano concertos Haitink I could see Brendel-Haitink and Pereiha-Haitink
It is also regrettable that the "Music folder" option does not allow a search and remains paginated.
But that hasn't stopped me from sticking with LMS for over 10 years (pre Logitech era)
I hope that my message will remain understandable after passing through the translator.

to express my request more concisely :
would it be possible to make multiple choices in the advanced search, at least for the Path section ?

Thank you for your interest in my request.
I have seen this possibility but it implies the exact knowledge of the path so I might as well access it directly.
Do you know if there is a particular reason for the "music folder" option to be paginated?
Although I suspect the answer is no, is it possible to mention several artists in the search?

I was wondering what exact problem you're trying to solve. Having
multiple paths in a search only is an approach for a solution to it,
isn't it? But what do you really want to achieve? Maybe there's a
totally different way which would give you what you want?

I think I know another solution but it frightens me : perfect tags. But my collection has been built up over the years and some of the recordings come from pirate editions or radio broadcasts without tags. On the other hand, each recording (disc, album or concert) is in a folder (or sub-folder) whose name (or path) gives the information composer, name of the work, performers. The presence of the "Path" in the advanced search had made me hope for a direct use of this information.

It is possible to generate tags from the path.
See https://community.mp3tag.de/t/conver...port-tags/8016
It might be worth trying.

Thanks for the link. MP3Tags or TheGodFather seem to be good tools. However, the syntaxes require great rigour (separators, spaces) and a rigorous hierarchy.
These programs seem to me rather intended to reorganize libraries by giving them a structure.
In any case, even by copying the path into a tag recognised by LMS it would not be possible to use it as I would like in the absence of a multiple selection.
The program "Everything" under Windows corresponds rather well to my use but does not allow communication with LMS.
