Duet Controller is dead, receiver factory reset, Mac OS only... Options?

I've been trying to find a solution here but it seems that none of the usual app suspects are available from the Android play store... The Net::UDAP solution won't run on a Mac so... Where to from here?

If you can sideload apps on your android device, the squeezeconfig beta udap apk is available from my downloads site.

There's sbconfig - a newer utility to configure the older SB devices, available for MacOS

    https://jcrummy.github.io/gosqueeze/

    Announcement page in these forums:

    https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...ration-utility

No idea if it actually works OK for MacOS, seemed to be some issues, but worth a try nonetheless.

The Android version started life/discussion here:

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...ol-for-Android

and can be downloaded from here:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/lms...P.zip/download

With respect to your current devices I guess your only other option would be to buy a used Duet or Controller from eBay.

Your final option would be to replace the receiver with one of the more recent streamer options...
    for example:

Discussion threads on the forum for piCorePlayer and Dac32:

    https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...rePlayer-8-0-0

    https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...music-streamer

    Good luck

    Kev

I am not sure if I understand the problem, but are you running Logitech Media Server on your network? If so, install the LMS material skin on LMS, and you should be able to control your SB Receiver from your smartphone by accessing LMS Material from your web browser. No special control app needed.

For more information on LMS Material see:

The OP's problem is the Receiver needs the Controller to get it on the network. Controller no longer works. Needs some method of configuring the Receiver, not controlling it.
    LMS server/study player - LMS 8.3.0 Pi4B 4GB/NanoSound ONE case/pCP 8.1.0 - 75K library, playlists & LMS cache on Sata SSD (ntfs)
    Lounge - Pi2/pCP 8.1.0 > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > Topping E30 > AVI DM5
Dining Room - Echo Show 8
Garage - Squeezebox Touch > Edifier

    Spares - 1xSB Touch, 1xSB3, 4xRPi, 1xDAC32, 1xCORE32

OK, I don't have experience with the SB Duet and was not aware that the Receiver needs the Controller to connect to LMS. I assumed that the Receiver was comparable with a Raspberry Pi running piCorePlayer/Squeezelite, but apparently my thinking was wrong. Hopefully ralphy's squeezeconfig beta app, or the sbconfig utility mentioned by Kebul can then be used to configure the Receiver.

The controller is only needed to set up the receiver. The other tools (Net::UDAP and SBConfig) can be used to config the receiver if you don't have a Duet Controller. Once the receiver is set up you can control what it plays using Material skin, web browser, Orange Squeeze, iPeng, etc.
Main system - Rock Solid with LMS 8.2.1 on WHS 2011 - 2 Duets ( both WiFi, farthest unit gets 60% signal strength and always works since new power supply) and Squeeseslave
    Cabin system - Rock solid with LMS 8.2.1 on Win10 Pro - 1 RPi 3 Model B (WiFi) /Hifiberry DAC+ Pro/PiCorePlayer and Squeezeslave
Squeezebox Boom - "At Large" player around both home and cabin
Headphones and car - Android phone/Bluetooth w/full library on MicroSD card - PowerAmp music player app (similar to Material Skin)

I haven't used a Mac in decades, but I see that VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/ will run on MacOS. If you use that to install a Linux VM on your Mac, I would have thought you could run Net-UDAP on that. It's a bit of a faff to set up for one task, I grant you, but you only have to do it once and it costs nothing except your time. Once you've done it, you may find that having a Linux VM available at the click of a mouse can be handy for all sorts of reasons.
