    Recommendations for kitchen

    Hi
Long time squeezebox user here. I have several touches hooked up to amps and speakers in the house, and a dedicated vortexbox server running LMS. 1 boom in use upstairs.

After a kitchen extension, I would like to introduce some networked audio into the kitchen, but this will need to consist of essentially one smart speaker type device. Certainly only a one box solution.

Forgive me, but I really donít want to build a custom made device. Really I want an updated version of the boom, which doesnít exist!

Are there any devices out there that can be configured to work with lms? The dreaded sonos for example?

Worst case scenario, would one of the more intelligent smart speakers be able to at least see the upnp server that vortexbox has, in addition to LMS? So I can at least browse my music library that way?

Any suggestions and advice sincerely appreciated.

You could use the LMS Chromecast plugin and any Chromecast-enabled smart speaker.

    Example: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/google-...?skuId=6428302

I run 2 squeezebox radios configured as stereo pair in my kitchen and very happy with this config.. Although yeah it's 2 devices rather then one you asked about ;p
3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+)

Thanks for your reply. Can you explain how they work with lms because they arenít squeezeboxes? Are they seeing the upnp bridge?

Are you saying that you don't have web access to your LMS installation? All you need to install a plugin is to be able to load http://<LMS IP>:9000 in your web browser. Once there, you would use the Settings link at bottom right, then go to the Plugins tab on the Settings page.

Usually running latest beta LMS nightly on Raspberry Pi OS with virtual players (Squeezelite and Airplay bridge). Occasionally using SB Radio, Boom or Classic.

Just get one of these: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...music-streamer. You can connect it to any device (radio, amplifier, powered / active speaker) with an analogue / Aux input.
