Touch - USB Digital Audio Out?

I've read though a few of the more obvious threads, and I'm not 100% sure.....

Can the Touch deliver digital audio OUT via its USB? This is more of a wire-tidying excercise than anything else, so it's no big deal, either way.

Yes, although it depends on the DAC

which dac do you intend to use ?

    ronnie

Edit: also possible through both SPDIF outputs

And you first need to install the EDO applet on the TOUCH itself. Without EDO the TOUCH doesn't play through the USB connection.

Thanks to both. I was going to push a spare Touch through my shiny new AudioEngine A2s. Input options there are 2xPhono, 3.5mm jack, USB, Bluetooth. Phonos will work fine, but I thought the USB as a digital option would be worth a try. When next I am in front of that particular Touch, I'll fiddle with that EDO Applet (to which there seems to be a good guide here - https://darko.audio/2012/05/enhanced...eezebox-touch/ ), and see what happens.

BTW, I'm delighted with my AudioEngines - very fine quality in a tiny package at a modest price - currently being driven by my nifty litte SqueezeAmp !

Oh - I hadn't looked so far down the details! A bit basic, no? But for interest I will give the EDO applet a whirl on the Touch, and see what happens.

I use a pair of the A2s in my office at work (fed via 3.5mm from sound card). I like them.
