Best way to close only one player?

I'd like to close LMS running on my computer (windows 10) to save internet bandwidth but keep my Radio on.

    Thanks,
    Jon

In that case, you'd need to connect your radio to mysqueezebox.com. You have to have either LMS or mysqueezebox.com (LMS "in the cloud") running in order to run any squeezebox player.

It looks like the Radio is connected to mysqueezebox.com but when I turn off LMS, the Radio has no connection to the internet.

hmmmm, that makes no sense. If the radio is connected to mysqueezebox.com then your local LMS is irrelevant. Are you sure you've connected the radio to mysqueezebox.com (on the radio menu itself).

The original post said he wanted to "close LMS running on my computer (windows 10) to save internet bandwidth but keep my Radio on."

If the goal is to save internet bandwidth, then music would need to be on locally stored music files, which would require LMS to run on the Windows 10 computer.

Both streaming radio via local LMS or mysqueezebox.com is going to use internet bandwidth. In terms of internet bandwidth, is there much difference between local LMS being the server or MYSB.com? Of course using local LMS will allow for https streams and other streams not supported by MYSB.com.

good point! I misinterpreted his point as being "how can I stream without LMS being on...."

I don't think we know what the point was. The title doesn't help.

Yeah, the posting title was not clear, so I went with the text.

I am certainly guilty of misreading or misinterpreting stuff, so it happens. What is great about this forum is when this type of situation occurs, people respond in a respectful way. Gary, your replies have helped me A LOT!

It seems as though the goal is to listen to radio without LMS running. He thinks the player is connected to mysqueezebox before turning off the Windows machine. If the player is connected to mysqueezebox then it should be listed as such in the player drop down list in LMS.
