Combining pcp commands with screen saver worked well. Thanks.

Is there any specific reason to not include 14xx in the pcp image?

2 x Rpi4 players (w/ Jivelite / Touchscreen) and 1 x Rpi4 LMS server - all updated in situ fine. Server took a few minutes to reappear (longer than players) which made me nervous but all ok!
As mentioned elsewhere then updated Squeezelite to v14 manually.

piCorePlayer 8.2 - Squeezelite will not start with HiFiBerry Dac2HD

    Hello everybody,

I just updated two RPi 4, 8GB to piCorePlayer 8.2. One with AlloDigione works great but Squeezelite will not start on my second unit. It works great on 8.1 though.

I tried adding some screen shots of my settings below but not sure .png files uploaded. Please let me know if you need any other information to get this working.

    Thanks

    piCorePlayer v8.2.0 | www v00017 | linux 5.15.35-pcpCore-v8 (64) | piCore v13.2 | Squeezelite v1.9.9-1392-pCP

I updated Squeezelite to see if it would work but Squeezelite still won't start:

    piCorePlayer v8.2.0 | www v00017 | linux 5.15.35-pcpCore-v8 (64) | piCore v13.2 | Squeezelite v1.9.9-1403-pCP

Reverted back to 8.1 and Squeezelite starts again.

I forgot about this. I meant to include that in the notes. Hifiberry's DAC2HD contains a defective dtoverlay in its eeprom. I've not seen hifiberry post a method to update the overlay on the eeprom.

Read this post for the gory details.

    https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/4898

pCP includes the fixed overlay with the OS, but you have to tell the rpi firmware to ignore the overlay that is on the eeprom.

    Add
    force_eeprom_read=0

to your config.txt to ignore the onboard overlay.

That did the trick Paul. I added that line to the end of my config.txt, rebooted, updated to 8.2 rebooted again and it's up and running.
Thanks for the quick response and enjoy the rest of your day. :-)

    Thanks, edd

8.1.0 - Configuration changes cannot be saved.

[QUOTE=paul-;1027389]The pCP team is happy to announce the official release of piCorePlayer 8.0.0

    Having trouble with 8.1.0.

Changes that I make to squeezelite are not saved. When I change the default audio output device to Hifiberry Dac+ , click [Save] and Reboot, the output device shows up again as Headphones. The error msg seen before auto-refresh occurs is something about read-only access to the backup file somewhere on /mnt/....

Same issue with changing the Squeezlite node name away from picoreplayer.

Please advise. Thanks in advance for your help!

P.S., If there is a better thread to place this post, feel free to to let me know!
