    Thank you, but I think itĺs not a thing with the NAS. The disks are always spinning here. But somehow I did not have the error today, I will post some logs, if the error reappears.

    AFAICR, I have never had to restart httpd (without deliberately disabling the GUI).

    Check these 2 settings in "pcp configuration".

    [Main Page] > [Diagnostics] > [Logs] > select "pcp configuration" > [Show]

    Code:
    GUI_DISABLE="0"
    WWW_PORT="80"
    BTW: The GUI can be Enabled/Disabled through the CLI "setup" command, [Tweaks] > [WebGUI].

    SD Card Backup

    I am seeing something I don't understand and could flail around trying things for hours, or, just ask here...

    I have pCP 8 running on a pi3b+, 3rd partition on the SD for LMS data, and an attached USB HDD for my library. I use Samba to access the HDD and the 3rd partition LMS Data, via a windows 10 machine.

    I ran the pCP SD Backup back in august, and copied the image file to a windows folder and just left the image on the HDD. I ran it again today, and went to delete the old (august) image, and got this error:

    Name:  2021-10-18 08_55_57-images.png
Views: 207
Size:  7.9 KB

    Remember, this is windows -> samba -> pi -> HDD

    I went into the windows security options for the folder, and started making a mess (other error dialogs popping up). That never seems to end well, so I thought I would ask here.

    I did try rebooting the pCP figuring that would shut down and restart everything. I also can create and delete files on the share in other folders, it seems that only \images\ does this.

    Jim

    Note, in Samba settings on LMS tab I do NOT have read only ticked (in case that matters)

    I recall getting this message as well. I then just shutdown the rPi, connected the USB drive to my windows machine and was able to delete the img file from the drive there. (but not having to do that would be nice!)

    definitely an option, but it is in a loft requiring a ladder, then once in the loft disassembling a case I built to access the HDD, then down the ladder....you get the picture

    another option is to just leave it there....

    I reported this same issue several months ago and I could not figure out the resolution of the permission to delete the image file. My solution was also to remove the drive from the pi, connect to windows machine, and delete it.

    Unless space is an issue you can keep a chronological history of your pcp set up.

    I have the same issue if I save the backup images to the attached USB SSD.

    No problem if saved to my NAS.

    Good to know! Thanks...I don't have a NAS but...

    Since my objective is to backup the whole SD (including prefs on 3rd partition) onto a windows machine anyhow, maybe I can figure out how to create a network share for pCP to use on the windows PC. That will eliminate the step of creating it on the pCP HDD and moving it to the windows machine...and solve the need for permission to delete it from the pCP HDD.
