LOL. If it was about the registry I probably read it. Thank you way to late :-)

    Jivelite 6.1 works, 7 works, 8 broken

HDMI for video. Jivelite on 8 never initializes properly. I never see the selection choices like language, etc. Just a black screen. Music plays, though.
I did all my testing with from scratch installs, not upgrades and used defaults for HDMI.

    Empty library

I've experienced another mysterious Library "Empty" after a daily full scan. Nothing has changed AFAIK on the Win10 server where the library is stored. All shares are visible from another PC. Also my image backups do not list the backup folder (vol1) on the server as a destination so something is amiss. Restarting PCP or LMS makes no difference. The library is not browsable from the LMS settings page.

    Dmesg says:

    Code:
[ 43.983719] FS-Cache: Netfs 'cifs' registered for caching
    [ 43.986837] Key type cifs.spnego registered

How does one specify a dialect on the net mount page?
The CIFS mount options are currently "uid=1001,gid=50".

From the "more" link on the pCP LMS page
    Code:
<Options> are a comma delimited list of mount options. Ref mount man pages.
    CIFS
vers=2.0 - The linux kernel now defaults to SMB version 3.0, versions must be specified.
uid=1001 - mounts the drive with user "tc". Useful if using ssh sessions to write data to share.
gid=50 - mounts the drive with group "staff". Useful if using ssh sessions to write data to share.
However, if you did not need it before and nothing has changed then you should not need it now.
Is it possible that the IP address of the Windows machine has changed?

Tx - the only thing that had changed was a new drive in the server which meant the remote image backup share name in my net mounts was invalid. The music share didn't change. The new drive went in with no LMS activity ongoing.
Before I'd spotted that share name issue I then added "vers=2.0" to the music library mount option and it mounted! (I tried Net Mount button before but it wouldn't even try as nothing had changed).

Then I corrected the share name for the remote image backup and that mounted Ok, so then I removed the vers=2.0 from the music library mount and everything mounts again, so the dialect error in dmsg could have been a red herring. Hmmmm.

It seems like net mount detects 'something' has changed and then it breaks all the mounts for some reason. I forget what the retry mechanism is on L*nux SMB, with Windows it just retries, like a soft vs hard mount.

Thanks paul. I did a succesful insitu update from pCP 8.0.0 to pCP 8.1.0 on my Raspberry Pi ZeroW, and have now:

    SqueezeBerry | piCorePlayer v8.1.0 | www v00017 | linux 5.10.77-pcpCore (32) | piCore v13.1 | Squeezelite v1.9.9-1392-pCP

The release notes of PCP 8.1.0 say:
    • Includes Squeezelite 1.9.9-1399-pCP

    How to get Squeezelite 1.9.9-1399-pCP?

Likely a typo (or a special dev version )
