    Can Tidal stream through Duet?

I reactivated my Tidal account yesterday, 6/20/21. But I am not able to play any music through my Squeezebox Duet from Tidal playlists. I was able to stream from Tidal a year or two ago before I quit my subscription.

I can see Tidal on my Squeezebox Controller and can see my playlists and graphics that represent albums/songs. But I get a message saying "Problem: Unable to play file type for...(name of song)."

    My LMS is version 8.1.1.

Tidal's "auto help" page instructed me to install ickStream. And provided a link to ickStreak Open Squeezebox Installation.

I couldn't figure out the instructions at all. I sought out information on Slimdevices forum and found an article saying: "with a heavy heart we have to announce that we don't see a perspective for us to keep operating the ickStream service...we decided to shut down the ickStream service at the end of May 2019."

So, can one stream Tidal through a Squeezebox Duet or not? If so can you point me to instructions?

    Thanks.

    Can Tidal stream through Duet?

Thanks for the link to previous post. I appreciate it. But still no music from Tidal stream

I followed all the advice. Tidal still isn't playing through my Duet.

Tidal as a checked Active Plug in my Logitech Media Server. I changed Player > Audio to Proxied Streaming. Double checked everything, restarted Duet and LMS, still no music streamed from Tidal.

Regarding the advice from Mitch Stl: "On the Plug-In tab of your settings page in LMS, double-check those settings. Qobuz has one for the max bit rate sent to the player, so Tidal may have that also." I can see that Qobuz has a "settings" link in the right-most column; Tidal does not.

The Tidal app does appear as active as shown in mysqueezebox.com but the only settings there are "enabled" or "disabled" my settings show "enabled."

    I'm stuck. Any additional thoughts?

Are the settings "enabled" to the correct e-mail address ?

    Can Tidal stream through Duet?

Yep. Enabled and the right e-mail address. Still no music from Tidal stream through Duet.

How about this question: I'm looking into Tidal as a possible replacement to Pandora. I've been using Pandora for years and just want to see if another streaming service might be better. Should I just be happy with Pandora and forget about Tidal?

Haven't checked all your posting. But did you re-authenticate TIDAL on
mysqueezebox.com? They changed the way how to sign in a while back. Go
to mysb, remove the account and add it back (if you haven't done so yet).

What OS are you running LMS on? Are you able to navigate, but can't
play? What about SSL support (see Settings/Information in LMS)?

    Can Tidal stream through Duet?

Thank you so much for your posts. I think I am getting there. But not quite yet.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I have checked my e-mail and login credentials. I have tried to listen to Tidal on all of my Squeezebox devices, not just through my Duet. Tidal does work through my MacBook Air. So at least I do know my Tidal account is functioning.

Following is what happens on my Squeezebox devices:

Tidal stream doesn't work on my three players....
    1) On my Squeezebox Duet
Problem: Unable to play file type for: (names of song flash by)
Tidal login failed. Please check your credentials on mysqueezebox.com

    2) On my Squeezebox Radio
Failed to play stream (names of songs flash by)
Failed to play stream wimp.....(a series of flashing 10+digit numbers followed by the suffix .mp4)
Tidal login failed. Please check your credentials on mysqueezebox.com.... wimp.....(a series of flashing 10+digit numbers followed by the suffix .mp4)

    3) On my Squeezebox Boom
    Tidal login failed

    Tidal stream works
On my computer via Logitech Media Server "Remote"
Tidal plays through my MacBook Air

I guess I am too old to understand this. I'm a retired guy. I don't understand an instruction saying, "Please check your credentials on mysqueezebox.com" etc. Well, I can check them, but I don't know how to tell whether they are right or how to correct them.

Is there a Squeezebox for Dummies? On the website Logitech Squeezebox (mysqueezebox.com) it indicates the following Player statuses:
    Controller - not connected
    Squeezebox Radio - connected
    Squeezebox Receiver - connected
Squeezelite - not connected (I have no idea what Squeezelite is).

I cannot seem to figure out how to change a "not connected" to a "connected." But I can get Pandora to stream without problem on all my players with the current credentials; why not Tidal???

All I want to do is stream music from Internet services such as Pandora or Tidal or radio stations. I'll play my Duet through my living room hifi when I'm in the living room. I'll play music through my Squeezebox radio when I'm in the garage. I'll play music through my Squeezebox Boom when I'm in my office.

I don't want to control music in other rooms.

I don't want to play digitized music stored on a local hard drive. I never want to listen through my MacBook Air's speakers or through my cell phone.

Is there a set of instructions as to how to do what I want?

Can Tidal stream through Duet? Some success!

Tidal does work I now know. But now no Pandora on my Squeezebox Radio. I just fiddled with the web controller through LMS on my Macbook Air and can select the players Squeezebox Radio and Squeezebox Receiver and can get Tidal to play through each. My Squeezebox Boom doesn't show up in the dropdown list so I cannot find out if it will also play.

But no change when trying to use the players' controllers. Tidal won't play.

Any additional thoughts? I'm sure I'm making progress. I just don't realize it yet.

Can Tidal stream through Duet? Some success!

    Tidal is now working!

I feel like quite an idiot.

It now is working on my Duet.

I did a software update on Duet, update 7.8.0 r16739

And now the Duet is streaming Tidal successfully and Pandora successfully.

I'm too happy at the moment to check my Squeezebox Radio and Squeezebox Boom. I'll garner up the gumption to check out those tomorrow.

For now this will remain a mystery to me, but one that I'll live with. Other than the Duet software update, I don't know that I did anything other than uninstall and reinstall and check the set ups.

    MH had asked:
What OS are you running LMS on?
    - Mac OS 10.13.6

Are you able to navigate, but can'tplay?
    - Yes

What about SSL support (see Settings/Information in LMS)?
    - I have looked as Settings/Information on LMS. My LMS is 8.1.1. Everything looks good there. And as far as I can discern OK within LMS Advanced Settings.

Thanks to all of you. I appreciate all your comments and advice.
