Picoreplayer v7000, Benchmark DAC2 HGC, Rpi4, USB no sound

Been messing around with this for a couple of days and making no progress so looking for any advice to help me fix the problem.

I have a RPi4 and I'm trying to output through USB to my Benchmark DAC2 HGC but I am getting no sound from the speakers. System all works fine using the digital inputs on the DAC2 so no problem with amps or speakers.

On the Rpi I am using piCoreplayer V7.0.0.0

I have disabled the onboard audio on the Rpi.

Squeezelite output setting is 'hw:CARD=B20,DEV=0', ALSA setting 80,4,blank, 1, blank

On the DAC2 the 'U' and '44' leds on (not blinking).

    ALSA shows:

Size: 85.7 KB

    aplay -L gives:

    tc@piCore4:~$ aplay -L

Try some of the other output options

    front:CARD=B20,DEV=0

Or any of them until you find one that works. Also try the usb2 port on the pi4.

Iíve tried the first 6 or 7 strings and none are working. Iíve tried plugging in to all 4 USB ports.

Iím pretty sure I have the DAC2 in Usb2 mode - held the button in for 5 seconds.

The DAC2 is definitely seeing the Rpi as the U led flashes with the Rpi unplugged and goes solid when itís plugged in.

I know itíll turn out to be something stupid that Iíve done but I canít for the life of me figure it out!

If you have a spare sd card why not try pCP v6 or the raspberry PI OS Buster Desktop (and playback via a browser)

There seems to be a lot of volume sliders, can you turn the volume up on the first two in the screenshot?

Can't do anything with the first 2 bars other than use the 'm' key to mute and unmute (toggles between 'mm' and '00'). All the other bars are at 100.

This might be completely unhelpful as it is a "works for me" on different hardware. Anyways, curious as I am I checked alsamixer for my DAC (micromega mydac) on a separate system and got the same bars as the OP. I plugged it into a piCore player on a rPi3+ and got the same four bars, aplay output is also similar.

To get sound through the DAC all I did was change output device to USB audio, reboot and then turn off build in audio and reboot. That was it! I did not have to change any other values, my "Output settings" is blank and "ALSA settings" 80, 4, blank, 1, blank.

Sorry OP if you are still trying to get this working and have tried the default values.
