Oki doke.. So shall I continue my logging?

if so, same Q's as earlier

shall I leave the streaming mode at CACHE?

shall I try a few that give the 404 error too.?

shall I try through MY APPS > BBC SOUNDS as well as the MY APPS > PODCASTS and the RADIO PODCASTS paths? all three.

    cheers CD

    Caching Streams, Is this possible?

    Hi Philippe,
With your new caching to disk capability, would it be possible to use this functionality to pause live streams for extended periods?

If I pause a live radio stream at the moment, it pauses and can resume play after a short while (I assume this is limited by some internal buffer in the player), but if I leave it too long it won't resume from the pause point.

If you are caching to disk, would it be possible to also use this to pause a live stream for a "long" period of time. For example, listening to a live radio stream, the phone rings, press pause, and then resume the stream at, say half an hour or so later?

That would be a neat feature if possible?

    Thanks

I've sent a PR on LMS, at this point we should wait till Michael triggers a new build. I've checked on my side and using podcast, the connection is dropped after a few minutes, I assume this is because I'm not in the UK as well. But now with persistent, it is re-established and podcast continues. I'm not sure what happens with BBCSound app itself.

Regarding the 404, I'm a bit surprised. Can you described exactly what you do when you say "I'm trying to play it *again*"

    regarding 404

Hi there, thanks for your reply..

regards 404... when go to play a podcast through MY APPS > PODCASTS > KERMODE AND MAYO'S FILM REVIEW > same episode as before ie:RE-PLAY PREVIOUS > I get the 404 error. Same issue for football daily podcast.

The Podcasts App settings at MySqueezebox.com has two podcasts linked to it, https://podcasts.files.bbci.co.uk/b00lvdrj.rss and https://podcasts.files.bbci.co.uk/p02nrsln.rss, I usually use these to play the two podcasts. But now neither of them work, any episode, now I get the 404 error.

    cheers CD

I don't know... I've tried to play the same title multiple times using that feed and it works (although I've seen strange things that this site seems to do, i.e. is seems to be "evade" regularly and disappear from my DNS server). You can set the "player.streaming" and "player.streaming.remote" to "info" (per previous post) and take logs, it might give me a hint.

Thanks for your reply philippe_44.. I will wait for the new version first, then might stop using the Podcast App from MySqueezebox.com as there are a few other ways to use that do work ..

If I click directly on the above link in my reply "https://podcasts.files.bbci.co.uk/b00lvdrj.rss" the browser opens and it shows a page of text info about the details of the podcast... as below:
This is the same link that gives me the 404 error when I go through the Home > My Apps > Podcasts > Kermode and Mayo's Film Review > any podcast

    cheers CD
