    Did you set a static IP while you had it connected via cable? As it is reporting an IP of 192.168.1.5 in boot log perhaps you did ....

    With WiFi you have to let the router assign the IP and then reserve it to achieve a fixed address.

    Assuming you did set a static put the cable back in and unset static IP then reboot and check it gets a valid IP from router's DHCP via cable.
    Then unplug cable and reboot on wifi - you may find that the router can now allocate an address correctly

    No, I did not assign a fixed-IP address. The 192.168.1.5 is what the router came up with on its own when I plugged the RPi into the router using the ethernet cable. I wasn't planning to give the RPi a fixed-IP address at all - no need to as I do not need a machine to 'find' the RPi at a consistent IP on a regular basis, and static IPs add network complications (need to make sure nothing else somehow grabs the fixed-IP). So I'm quite happy to let the router hand out IP addresses as needed.

    I will go double-check the router and piCorePlayer web-GUI to verify the router is using/managing DHCP and that the RPi does not think it has a fixed-IP address.

    I have connected the RPi to the router with the ethernet cable, booted the RPi, and run the WiFi Diagnostics button available at: piCorePlayer weg-GUI main page -> Wifi Settings -> Set wifi configuration "Diagnostics" button.

    There is an informative note at the top of the diagnostics screen stating:
    Warning:

    piCorePlayer is not currently using the wifi interface.
    Squeezelite/piCorePlayer will default to the wired interface.
    Shutdown, remove the ethernet cable, then reboot to use the wifi interface.


    I verified that the router is using DHCP and assigns IP addresses as needed.

    I shut down the RPi, removed the ethernet cable from the router, and booted back up the RPi. The RPi reports it has an ip address of 192.168.1.5 (same as before).

    The router console now shows a wirelessly connected device (the RPi) as connected to it with the same IP address 192.168.1.5 - this seems to be progress for no known reason.

    The MAC addresses are still off by 1 digit - router reports DC:A6:32:72:44:06, the piCorePlayer information screen accessible via the 7" touch screen reports the MAC as DC:A6:32:72:44:05.

    From the Win10 laptop, also connected to the router, can not bring up the piCorePlayer web-GUI at http://192.168.1.5 - it just times out.
