Odd behaviour when enabling Samba (PcP 7)

Since I upgrade to PcP 7 I am having some weird issues when enabling Samba. Often music playback stops and starts at random intervals, when I disable Samba that never happens. (in the logfiles -on the PcP webinterface- I don't find anything).

I use Samba for backups, sharing the USB disk that has both the music and the slimserver directory, which I then mount on a Mac using Carbon Copy Cloner (rsync). Last night I got an error message (access denied) on the Mac while attempting the backup, followed by the volume on the players going up to max and the LMS webinterface unaccessible (sorry neighbours).

When I disable Samba all is fine again.. So I suspect a router/networking issue, but I am not really sure where to start debugging. But before I upgraded to PcP 7 I had Samba permanently enabled and also used it for the backups, without any problems.. Anybody has any suggestions?

Funny - exact the same setup and programs and pCP 7.0.1 and never had these problems. OK - The backups are at midnight where I usually do not listen to Music, so I can’t say if it occurs during backups, but no issues - also none before upgrading to 7.0.1

    Cheers,

    Rainer

Good to know, thanks. I noticed that Apple started doing this annoying thing where they always try using AppleID to authenticate on network drives (I'm on 10.15), so I was wondering if it had something to do with that...
