Cant play music from USB disk

    Hi.

Can anybody help with following topic.
When running Mac Mini2014 with catalina OS X 10.15.7 the LMS server works fine when music library is on internal disk (1TB SSD).
When i attach a USB disk to the Mac and add the USB disk to the music library
/Users/macmini2014/Music/itunes/iTunesMusic <--internal disk and music plays fine from this folder.
    /Volumes/MUSIC1 <-- USB disk

When I make a rescan of the library then the library on the USB disk is shown as EMTY in the LMS.(See Attachment) The USB disk do include music files.(see attachment)

I have tried same with two other USB disks and with same "empty" result.

I have just replaced the mac Mini from a 2009version running "El Capitan" and the old Mac mini did see the USB disk library.

I have already searched the forum regarding this'd can see that there is topics with MAX OS X Catalina and not attaching the music library. My Problem is only the USB disk can't be attached so i don't believe thesis the problem or?

I Hope some one can guide me to get this working again.
    My systems setup as follow.

    Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.1 - 1610364019 @ Thu Jan 14 06:19:27 CET 2021

    IO::Socket::SSL: 2.066

I have a similar issue on my Mac mini server. If I install LMS on it, it scans the external hdd with music in it and builds the library. After some time, the player can't reach the music files, even if library appears. Music folder on player is empty but obviously it isn't... If I trigger a rescan, it deletes the library... I have to uninstall LMS, install again and rebuild the library again and again for this issue. Can you help me with that?

Okay, I've granted full disk access to perl and bash. Now the issue is partially fixed: when I restart Mac os Big sur with LMS autostart, the issue is still there, no music folder access, but if I restart the server after a while LMS works correctly...

Please note that the "start at boot time" option must have been broken
for quite a while. Change it to "start at sign-in" instead. At least
this way you won't have to start it manually.

    Hi MHerger

I guess our reply was not to me but i did try to set the server start when login.

But this did not fix the USB disk topic. :-(

also: just installed latest build: LogitechMediaServer-8.2.0-1614413430 --> result, still not possible to see the use disk folder in LMS.
