    Using msb.com locks LMS

Are you saying you can connect your pCP to mysqueezebox.com directly? I
thought I had blocked this years ago?!?...

I rarely connect it to MSB. Today was probably the first time in 6 months. Man, there were a lot of players in there :-) Actually, this was the first time for this pi. I just finished it yesterday. Trying one of the 3.5 touch screens. I usually do it from my server which runs 24/7 also. And it works fine. Both are set up the same with the exception of the model pi and my primary server is on 8.1.2 - 1613284909.

    Who knows.

Michael, with respect I don't think you, me or anyone else knows what can be connected to mysqueezebox.com and what can't. Loads of reports on here where users are using mysqueezebox.com with software players.

My "bedroom" pCP is connected and playing right now just to prove it's possible.

I have no interest in mysqueezebox.com whatsoever, I do it only to assist others.

Why not? My boss would probably expect me to know...

Sure, somebody could always cheat his way around the limitations imposed
(as they're not really strong). But software players IMHO should not be
able to connect. At least I thought that was what some code was used
for. If it's working, but it doesn't work as expected (by the user),
then this might be a side-effect of using a feature which is not
    supposed to work :-).

Using mysb is not the same as connecting a player to it. If you're using
TIDAL, you're using mysb, even though it doesn't work if your player is
connected to mysb. TIDAL needs LMS. But you're still using mysb.

May I ask how you did this?

    I actually see a whopping 58 squeezelite/squeezeplay instances connected
    right now.

I am guilty to Michael. But as I mentioned, it's a rare instance. Also, as I mentioned, it seems to work fine for my RPI server/player.

I fool with it so rarely, I'm not even sure what it does, but I thought you used to have to connect to it for the apps listed in it and for internet radio.

That seems.to be the only way to do it. If you click on "connect to mysqueezebox" from the Squeezeplay menu it doesn't work.

You gotta be kidding... I'm pretty sure we even have code to prevent this for the Receiver, as back in the days people were scared that a "headless" unit could get lost in the transfer and would be hard to get back to LMS. Oh well... we tried.

Is any of you seriously using this?

So is there any reason to use MSB at all if one does not use TIDAL?

    Thanks Michael.
