Hi,
there are two screens connected to my pi4 plus audio via analog 3.5mm jack
I did install Squeezelite on a Pi4 (Buster) with the apt-get install method.
I switched default audio to card2 "Headphones" with raspi-config and rebooted.
Squeezelite runns after reboot but I cannot hear any sound - even thought I am able to hear sounds from the browser or aplay.
What else can I check?
Thanks!

IIRC "apt install squeezelite" is an "ancient" version of squeezelite.
Install latest from https://sourceforge.net/projects/lms...ezelite/linux/
Don't rely on default output device setting. Define an audio output device on squeezelite command line. If not sure, use the option to list available devices. Use the device with plughw: designation.
Buster uses Pulseaudio - so if audio output is being shared by an application (E.g. desktop sound effects) you should be using sqeezelite built for pulse audio otherwise remove the device from pulseaudio control (e.g. use pavucontrol)

I use Buster Desktop with squeezelite-alsa installed via the package manager.
This is my setting for the headphone / audio jack output
It's easy enough to update the squeezelite package, give me a poke

One needs -a :::0 in the SB_EXTRA_ARGS
