Tidal: tracks curtailed when playing albums

    piCorePlayer 7.0.0 Standard version
    iPeng on iOS
Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.1 1610364019

I read the thread about Tidal buffering issue. With so many possible variables I don’t know where to start. The next track starts too soon. The last few seconds of the prior track are not played.

I also have Apple TV player which also jumps to the next track too soon.

The Tidal iOS app plays the entire track before moving on to the next one.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, using Apple TV player selected on iPeng.

I think you need to tell us a little more about your various players.

PiCorePlayer on Rp3 controlled from iPeng on iPad and/or iPhone. Using player plugins.
On web interface PiCorePlayer shows squeezelite and LMS are running.
LMS shows two players: PiCorePlayer and Apple-TV
IPeng on the iPad shows three players: Apple-TV, iPad iPeng and PiCorePlayer.
Raspberry Pi is wired to the router running OpenVPN.

Streaming of BBC Radio will not start unless first we play a snatch from the local usb-connected hard disk. A separate issue?

I don’t use cross fade which I thought might be related to this issue. It was set to 10 seconds by default. I changed it to 0 just in case it might’ve solved the problem.

No Spotify or other similar online services to compare with the working of Tidal.

Don’t Stop The Music was mentioned the Tidal buffering thread. Tried with it on and off.

What else can I tell you?

And all three of them show the same behaviour? What format are you
streaming (lossy or lossless)? Any transcoding involved? Any 3rd party
    plugins?

Please give LMS 8.1.2 a try, too.

    Probably, yes.

    > What else can I tell you?

What country are you in? We've seen different behaviour between EU and
    US datacenters in the past.

    Yes, the same behaviour.
    Format AAC (Tidal) 320kbps
3rd Party? Would that include BBC sounds, DSDPlayer ??

    Will do.

Upgraded to LMS 8.1.2 as you suggested.

At first the tracks in an album played to the end and moved on to the next one. Eventually the cutting short started again, It seems that the longer you continue streaming from Tidal, the more likely the tracks are cut short. If you make it go back and play the track again, the track is allowed to reach its end.

The first track of Karajans Bach B-minor Mass lost at least 20 seconds, immediately starting track 2 before being allowed to hear the end of the first.

    Using LMS 8.1.2

These are long tracks. I dont know if that is relevant.

The files being streamed are AAC 320kbps.

Can I be the only LMS Tidal user with this problem? As I see my question receding into the background it makes me wonder if I am alone with this issue?
