    I totally agree.
    Some HD stuff is noticeably poorer than a 16/44.1 FLAC. It does entirely depend on the mastering.
    That said Qobuz does have some very good stuff and I have no intention of going anywhere near MQA

    I think sound quality also has a lot to do with room acoustics and speaker setup, which most normal people can't (and shouldn't be willing to) change....

    No. And I’m not going to as I have nothing that will play MQA and don’t feel inclined to invest (heavily) in something to do so given that the evidence suggesting MQA will never be mainstream. FLAC is fine as far as I’m concerned
