Tagging of albums with the same name but different artists?

Hello!

I want to know how the best possibilty is to tag albums with the same name but different artists like:
"Reveal", which is available from "Fischer-Z" and from "R.E.M." or
"Retro" from "New Order" or "Wingenfelder".

Until now I named the album:
Reveal (Fischer-Z) and the other one
Reveal (R.E.M.)
or
Retro (New Order)
Retro (Wingenfelder)

What are your solutions for such albums with the same name?

The problem is not mainly LMS. I manage the music on my Mac with the Music program from Apple and copy it 1:1 to the LMS piCorePlayer.
There I have a list of all albums and all albums with the same name have only one entry. And when I have them on my iPhone there is the same problem.

I don't know what happens when I order the albums only by album in LMS. Are there different entries for every artist if the album names are the same?

If you have a problem with this it is probably because you are using a flat folder structure ie

MUSIC / Track 1 from Reveal by REM
MUSIC / Track 2 from Reveal by REM
MUSIC / Track 1 from Reveal by Fischer-Z

If you use
MUSIC
- REM
- / Reveal / Tracks
- Fischer-Z
-/ Reveal / Tracks

LMS will see these as different albums and you just need to tag the album name as Reveal with the correct album artist.

I use mp3tag to tag albums as I want them, no album gets into my library else.

Works fine for all my requirements.

Also when you order them by "Album" only:

The album view was sorted by "album" only. Seems to be an Apple issue.

If Apple allow other music apps I would try one of those.
