With the (hopefully) imminent arrival of my DAC32 my thoughts wandered to a PSU for it. Polyvection say that any good USB 5V PSU/charger will be perfect and as I need one I happened upon this bit of research: https://lygte-info.dk/info/ChargerIndex%20UK.html

They have tested a huge number of these chargers and also measured the noise they produce. Best of the bunch is this one off eBay at £10.99 inc P&P which has a noise level of 5mV rms and 106mVpp at 0.5A: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5V-2A-AC-...AAAOSwgLFeknB5


For those of you in the USA or EU the Apple charger A1400 produces even less noise at 0.5A with 8mV and 81 mVpp for about the same price. UK version is A1399:

Good spot and yes its a 2 Amp supply, so more than enough power. You should not have too much longer to wait for your DAC32

Actually I replaced the Amazon AC/DC USB adapter used for my Topping E30 with the JHD one off eBay. I have a SB3>E30>Arcam Solo Mini>Anthony Gallo Micro's/TR-2 subwoofer in our kitchen and it is a lovely sounding system but the new 5V supply made a discernable improvement to my ears. I did look at the Topping P50 linear PSU which has a measured noise level of 1mV rms but not sure it is worth £129 when the JHD adapter has a measured noise level of 5mV rms and probably gets most of the performance out of the DAC in what is usually a background listening system. None of the other adapters I tried on the E30 (LG, Google, Motorola, Samsung, generic) made any difference. I have an Apple one somewhere which I will try but I will probably spring for another £10.99 JHD for the DAC32.
