    Error IO::Socket::SSL SYNOLOGY DS209 DSM4.2

    Hi,
After switching to LMS 7.91 I got this famous error message. Following the advice on the forum, I updated perl to ver 5.10 and installed perl-io-socket-ssl.
But the status still shows: Perl version: 5.8.6 - MARVELL_88F6281
On closer examination the ipk packages are installed in the /opt/lib/ folder and not in the /lib/ folder.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you're indeed still on DSM 4, then don't waste any more time and get
a Raspberry Pi to run LMS. Trying to get LMS running on this system is
going to be a painful exercise.

I will be using the Raspberry Pi as a server and not as a PC. I will pilot it from a Windpws PC.
From these indications which OS do you recommend: Raspbian or Ubuntu Mate?
I am new to both OS.

piCorePlayer is probably easiest and lots of users on the forum.

I usually recommend picoreplayer.org if it's about running LMS only.

Otherwise I stick with Raspberry OS (formerly known as Raspbian), as
this is what gets the best support. It's from the Pi foundation.

Thank you both. As I'm curious about Rasperry's potential, it will be Raspian then.

    Hello,
I am happy to report that I now have LMS on a Raspberry PI. I partially used this tutorial: Johnĺs Tech Blog
It's very nice to find my favorite radio channels.
To make the Raspberry OS experience more enjoyable, how do I access it through a GUI. I am using a Windows 10 PC.
    Thank you!

Best to start a new thread since this is no longer about Synology - and in it you can say that sort of things that you need to make it more enjoyable.

    It's true, thank you.
In the meantime I have solved my problem with VNC.
