Tidal stopped streaming on SBT - Help!

    Hi,

This happened for no reason I can figure out. My Tidal acct. is active and works on other devices.

    I have tried:

    Unplugging/restarting the SBT
    Uninstalling/reinstalling Tidal via mysqueezebox.com
Running SBT via ethernet cable instead of wifi.
Everything else on my SBT (radio station links I set up) stream just fine. It's only Tidal

After reinstalling Tidal, my favorites etc. reappear on the SBT. If I add a new one it will show up also.

When I click play, the streaming tries but fails.

I have emailed Tidal to see if they have made a change that no longer supports squeezebox. Haven't heard back yet.

Any guidance is GREATLY appreciated. I'd hate to lose Tidal on this awesome STB device that was is so far ahead of it's time.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pete

You can do a search of the forum, there are dozens of thread about Tidal recently stopping for users.

SB devices do not support https. This is probably your problem.

Tidal has moved to use https in some countries.
If you are unlucky then you have to have local LMS system to handle the https for the SB players.
The local LMS can be a Raspberry Pi.

Your country info would help mherger give more definitive advice.

Thanks, I haven't been on this forum for a year or two. I'm in the US. I'll update my acct. to reflect that.

You need to run the latest LMS8:

Any instructions on how to do that would be appreciated. I only have the SBT and don't have a server running on a computer. If I ran it on my mac, would it "talk" to the SBT?

    Thanks.

    OK,
Sorry for these non tech newbie questions, but I am trying to learn!

So if I set up a server on my mac, Will the SBT see it?

My goal is to use to use the SBT the way I did before - choosing Tidal tracks from the SBT device using the remote. Is this possible?

OR would I have to choose tracks on the computer, which would then stream to the SBT to play on the stereo?

    Regards,
    Pete

Awesome! One last question, at least for now anyway. Does the computer always need to be running to serve tidal to the SBT. I assume so, but thought I'd clarifiy.
