I am using a Raspberry Pi with Picoreplayer/LMS running and it is attached to an external hard drive.
The Pi is wired to my wireless router.
I am wondering if there is a way to add music to the external driver without disconnecting the driver, plugging it a computer and exporting the music from my Apple Itunes library onto the hard drive.
(on a side note, so I have to re-scan from Squeezelite every time I add Music?)

Took me a little while to get Samba share to work and for the HDD to be seen on a Windows 10 based computer.
I posted the change to windows that made it work earlier.

It worked fine on an Apple Macbook book.
I use FreeFileSync on the Windows PC to compare and then sync the music folders.
And yes, I have you need to do a full rescan in LMS to see all the "new" copied files if you have changed artwork or other mp3 tags.
If its just brand new files that have never been in LMS, then just a rescan for new files works.
Once it all works - its amazing and I send my thanks to all those involved.

I use winSCP to sync files from my Windows PC to my music HDDs. This method doesn't need SAMBA as winSCP is using scp.
From memory, it was a bit of a pain to initially get the permissions right.
