Hi All. When I first worked in computers they had vacuum tubes!!! That was when I was in the Navy. Other than using them I don't really know what goes on under the hood.
But I had 57,000 burned to a 2 TB external HD that I used through my computer in my office. No more office so I am trying to set it up in my main audio system.
I bought a Raspberry Pi 4 and have that going into a DAC then into my tube preamp. I have the external HD going into the Pi via USB.
I've found it in Squeeze box but when I go to LMS I don't see it. I go to My Music> Disk and Folders> MNT and there are other things but not my HD.
Also, I set up TIDAL and when I play a song nothing happens.
Any ideas what I should be doing? or what I am doing wrong?
Dennis.

What operating system are you running on the Pi? I use piCorePlayer, and its web interface is pretty easy to use.
How is the hard disc powered, and what format is it?
RobertHome: Raspberry Pi 4/pCP7.0/LMS8.0.1/Material with files on QNAP TS-251A
Touch > DacMagic 100 > Naim Audio Nait 3 > Mission 752 (plus Rega Planar 3 > Rega Fono Mini; Naim CD3)
2 x Squeezebox Radios, 1 X Squeezebox 3 (retired), spare Pi2/piCorePlayer
Office: LMS8.0.0 running on Raspberry Pi3; Raspberry Pi 3 player with touchscreen/piCorePlayer/IQaudIO DAC and Amp
Portable: Raspberry Pi 3B/pCP6.1.0/LMS8.0.0/Material, files on Seagate portable drive, powered via power brick

When I installed my (new) system 6-7 months ago, the piCorePlayer help/ducomentation was a great help, I was up and running in less than 1-2 hours

What kind of subscription? Any error message? What kind of player?
Anything in server.log?
That's four questions.

Hi Michael. Free subscription and it played for a couple days until I added the external HD. Songs and skins show up but nothing happens when I hit play. No error message. I use piCorePlayer. I can't find the server.log It is not in the dropdown menu in the three dots in the upper right-hand corner.

Follow the info on mounting a USB drive, if you haven't already.
