    New LMS install crashes with this message

    Hi

    I've had to move my LMS install to a new machine, which has been reasonably ok, just the usual tracking down plugins etc.

    This morning it crashed twice with this message

    [20-10-29 07:49:33.5266] Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (121) Error: DBI Exception: DBD::SQLite::db prepare_cached failed: attempt to fetch on inactive database handle
    [20-10-29 07:49:33.5274] Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (121) Backtrace:

    It may be connected to the group players plugin as I was trying that one out at the time.

    The system is:
    Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.4 - 1603273368 @ Thu Oct 22 04:07:50 WEDT 2020
    Hostname: Zico
    Server IP Address:
    Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
    Operating system: Windows 10 - EN - cp1252
    Platform Architecture: 8664
    Perl Version: 5.14.1 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
    Audio::Scan: 0.95
    IO::Socket::SSL: 2.068
    Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0)
    Total Players Recognized: 10

    Does anyone have an idea what is causing this?

    PS make that 3 crashes now..

    Hmm

    Could you please provide the full server.log.zip?

    Uninstall and try again ;-). What other plugins?

    I've uninstalled that plugin for the time being.

    There seems to be a lot going on with the trackstat & custom scan.

    Non Logitech Plugins are
    Auto Dim Display
    BBC iplayer/extra/sounds
    Blanksaver
    Client cleanup
    Custom Scan
    Licence manager
    Playlist Manager
    Powersave
    Radiofeeds
    Saverswitcher
    Sleepfade
    Synch options
    The Synchroniser
    Trackstat.

    This was a 'clean' install with no prefs or anything carried over from the previous machine.

    I've also attached the scanner log - just to be different the scan hung at building full text index - albums.

    I've taken off trackstat & custom scan and rescanning - so far no errors.

    There are just too many DB related issues in those files. I'd suggest
    you shut down LMS, delete library.db and restart. This will trigger a
    new rescan.

    I tried it without itunes and it scanned to completion, so I'm guessing it's something in itunes library.xml.

    I've deleted the LMS library and got itunes to produce a new itunes library.

    Time will tell, if this doesn't work I'll try cleaning out itunes completely rather than importing the old library for the last machine.

    At least it hasn't crashed again.

    OK so I've done a completely clean install of iTunes imported the files, but did absolutely nothing else to iTunes. I then ran the scan and it completed with no obvious problems.

    Then I added a few playlists and did a rescan. Once again it hangs at the albums part of building text index.

    I can't see anything obvious in the attached logs it just stalls. For whatever reason this machine, LMS and iTunes don't seem to want to play nicely.

    Edit so I removed the playlists - and it's scanned ok again. Could something be blocking the library from updating?

    Oh, I think there's been an issue with iTunes exporting a playlist with
    all "Downloaded" or similar files. Please check settings for the iTunes
    plugin and enter all playlist names you don't want to install, or which
    have thousands of tracks in them.

    See
    https://github.com/Logitech/slimserv...77bc2fc4f912a6
    - there's a list of the default playlists to be ignored in various
    languages.

    Cheers - I'll do that. It has actually completed the building text index, it just took 55 minutes....

    I'll see if limiting the playlists helps. At least it's a pesky iTunes issue, not LMS.

    I wouldn't say so. LMS just chokes on playlists with tens of thousands
    of tracks during the fulltext index creation. Turn off one of iTunes or
    Fulltext Index and you might be good.

    Obviously going blind & or stupid, how do you turn off the full text index is it library statistics?
