    piCore Player / SAMBA & Windows 10 - Password permission denied

    Hi Paul Webster,


    here are my settings:

    LMS Share Name: PiCorePlayer_Toshiba

    I try to connect the Network address in Windows:

    \\PiCorePlayer\PiCorePlayer_Toshiba

    If your share name is PiCorePlayer_Toshiba, then your share path should be mnt/PiCorePlayer_Toshiba

    Yes exactly, that's how I entered it

    I entered the following in the Samba settings:

    as Mount Pont: PiCorePlayer_Toshiba
    as Device: /mnt/root
    Create File Mode: 0664

    Under windows I tried to add the following network connection:

    \\PiCorePlayer\PiCorePlayer_Toshiba

    Then the error message as described is displayed

    No, not "/mnt/root", it should be "mnt/PiCorePlayer_Toshiba"

    I think that the /mnt/xxx at the bottom of the screenshot is what should be in the field higher up.
    We cannot see the full name in the field but assuming it is identical to what you had earlier then making the change that kidstypike suggested will work.

    Is there an explanation of the released rights?

    Create File Mode 0664 is specified as the default.
