PiCorePlayer - info screen when off?

One of my piCorePlayer is pi3 w/ foundation touchscreen and always powered.
It currently serves as clock when the player is "off"

Is there a way to get weather / news on this off state?

Weather for sure, but not sure about a news feed.

Need to look at the custom clock applet..... and then Plugin: Custom clock helper. SuperDateTime will do weather.

For pCP, the Custom Clock Applet will need to be manually installed. at
    Code:
    /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets/CustomClock
This should help get you started

As long as the weather.com supports your location.

Thanks a lot Paul for pointing me in the right direction.

          Here's a thread that helped a lot.

I get stock tickers, sports results and local weather. Can't seem to make rss feeds to properly work for news, which would be even better.

Paul, do you know if we can still use Custom Clock on pCP with LMS 8.3 ?

I seems to have lost capability to get this working when I updated server.

Sure can. Where do you seem to be having problems?

I can install/reinstall custom clock and license manager from the applet installer.

I then save to SD, reboot the pi.

But don't get the custom clock anywhere.

I do however have issue connecting to mysqueezebox, so license manager may be unhappy. Maybe that's the issue?

Didn't Erland release a license less version of his applets?

Shouldn't we be aple to see the screens in the screensaver section?

I can see them on LMS setup in custom clock helper (which seems to work ok)

Do I need to redo my screens after updating server?

Just to verify: Did you load the RSS plug-in? (I don't use it, and I not quite sure if it is needed, but it worth a try)

Did you try Settings>Screen>Screensaver>Custom Clock Settings?

I can install / reinstall custom clock and license manager. If I reinstall everything and save to SD, it still won't show up when I restart...

license manager is not needed any more.

What sites do you have listed for addons on your plugin page.

                              I only have
                              Code:

                              http://superdatetimewu.sourceforge.net/CC_JL_repo.xml
                              Should I have something else?

Is there a way to fully uninstall and reinstall?

                              I'm wondering what went wrong...
