Squeezebox Radio - Lost All Radio Stations on October 19, 2020

    Hi:

New member here. I have four Squeezebox radios. Two are original Squeezebox radios and two are UE Smart radios. I run all four as original Squeezebox radios. I only use these radios for standard broadcast radio stations, both local and distant.

For the last couple of years, I have accessed my desired stations by setting up the stations on mysqueezebox.com in the Favorites tab using the following format:

    http://provisioning.streamtheworld.c.../XXXXAMAAC.pls

Where ".c..." is ".com" and "XXXX" are the radio station call letters. For example, for WCBS radio station in New York, I use:

    http://provisioning.streamtheworld.c.../WCBSAMAAC.pls

Starting this morning, none of them are working. Does anyone know a work around? Perhaps a new URL to try? Thanks!!!

I just tried WCBS-AM from UK and I get a http 403 Forbidden ... so looks like it is geolocked.
Accessing their web site doesn't work either because they block EU access.

Where in the world are you?

    edit

a wget on the wcbsAM pls URL returns
    Code:

mysequeezebox.com does not work, but running Logitech Media Server does work

With mysqueezebox.com as the server the following stations works fine: https://1.ice1.sslstream.com/kkjz_fm.aac

However, this station returns 403 Forbidden: https://19273.live.streamtheworld.com/KCBSFM.mp3

When I switch to using the Logitech Media Server v 7.9.3 (LMS), both of the URLs above work.

Must be a problem with mysqeueezebox.com?

On a slightly different subject, I can get some additional Radios from a friend. However, if mysqueezebox.com is not going to support streaming radio stations, then I am not sure I want to buy them. I would prefer not to have to run LMS all the time. It is already difficult because some radio stations seems to not support the Radio and force you to use an application. I guess we are dinosaurs that do not want to stream everything on our phone.

If you're in the US then this might be a temporary issue: our US servers
are in trouble, therefore you're connected to the EU site. Should be
    fixed later in the day.

Michael, thank you for your continued support and participation in this forum, it is very appreciated.

I am a still a little confused. In my prior post I mentioned while using mysqueezebox.com, one URL works but the other does not. Could it be due to a region issue due to the switch to the EU server? (I am in the US)

    Possible answer.

    Assuming no geo-fencing.

If a station requires the use of https and you are using mysqueezebox.com - then Radio will not be able to play it.

A local LMS can proxy playing a https URL for a Radio.
IIRC using mysqueezebox.com will try to substitute http for https but if the station does not support "http" URLs - station will not play.

    Back in Business!

OP here: Around 10 - 11pm EDT October 19th, all stations were working again!

Thanks to ALL who responded and especially to those who pointed out that it may be a server issue. I wasted 2 hours yesterday trying different URLs to see if they would work. At least next time, I will come here first. Thanks again!
