    Looking Good So Far...

    Hi Gary;

Works great so far on my system - loaded my favorites.opml on dropbox, chose share->share a link instead, create link, copy link. Then went to mysb.com - favorites. For some reason I couldn't add a new favorite, so I just took an existing unused one, renamed it "JB's Favorites", pasted the link, changed the '0' to '1' as you instructed.

On my LMS, went to favorites, on mysb.com, JB's favorites, and viola, there was my structured favorites.

My next step is to hope that tiny LMS has "on mysb.com" under favorites, and give my friend a call and walk him through it. I'll report back to close that loop.

This is really cool. I have LMS at two locations and have been using a USB portable HDD carried back and forth to mirror my music and favorites. I also have other family and friends that I have setup and gotten them started with my favorites (I only favorite radio stations). Now, I can set both of my locations and the others this way, so when I have to fix a broken link, or when I favorite a new station, I can just update the favorites on dropbox for all to access! What is also really nice is they can build their own favorites, structured or not, seperate from mine, and they can always go back to mine via mysb.com. Brilliant.

Thank you again, I'll report back on if it worked with TinyLMS.

    Jim

Excellent. Will be curious about whether tinyLMS picks this up.

Hmm, followed instructions > Dropbox > mysb.com > created "Favs opml" favourite > changed "0" to "1". This works fine on my usual RPi/LMS server.

However, using TinyLMS, although there is a "on mysqueezebox.com" entry in the favourites menu, I see "Redirection Limit Exceeded".

If you could share your favourites.opml file, I'll try that?

Added your dropbox link with the same result, works fine on my normal server, "Redirection limit exceeded" on TinyLMS.

    Sorry.

    Sorry.
Interesting. Oh well. I suppose the backup is that his friend use the Touch connected to mysqueezebox.com (and then probably works from there), and if he wants to change to his own music, he switches back to tinyLMS. Maybe there is a way to have only a few menu items that allow this easily.

Or do what I did for my brother....I set up an rPi 3B+ to run an LMS server, with his music attached to rPi via a portable USB drive. And he just runs that 24/7 connected to his router. Then the "on mysqueezebox.com" favorites would work and he'd have his local music too.

    Tiny LMS - adding Favorites

Most likely TinyLMS is failing the https request, trying to get http,
which in turn is re-directed to https by Dropbox.

good point. I understand that lack of https is why many have had to move from mysqueezebox.com to local LMS, even to continue to get certain radio stations. So back to the rPi idea for the OP's friend I think.

or host it on a site that can be accessed via http rather than https.

Am happy to put it on mine for you to test although you would need another one to allow subsequent updates to be made without me being a delaying factor.

    Hi Paul

Just to test your theory, I've created a small .opml file - 2 folders with 1 favourite in each. If you could host and supply a link?

    Thanks.
