You haven't posted any logs with player.source enabled to INFO to confirm what exactly is happening when trying to connect to a station.

The FIP URL you show is a "https" one - which is strange as many of the "directories" supply a "http" URL ?
Where did you get the URL from ?

The URL comes directly from the source code of the Web page: https://www.fip.fr/
The log I've posted is the default one.
I can try to get a new one with the appropriate info.

Jus as a reminder all works flawlessly with the late August version.
    Thanks.

Update with the appropriate player.source log enabled (attached) with the latest LMS version.

If you install my Radio France plugin then you will see a new menu under Radio and can select from 3 different URLs.
That does not fix the underlying problem but at least you should be able to hear things using one of them.

    Just has a quick look.
What is the player being used ?
    Are there two players ?
There are messages about syncing ?
I said any test should not have sycned player.

The player cannot play AAC natively - which is very unusual ? What is the version of the player ?

I don't understand why there is transcoding and also direct streaming - it doesn't make sense.

To sort out your problem, you need to keep the test setup as simple as possible so that the problem is visible and not obscured by irrelevant stuff.

    Hi Paul,

Well I've your plugin installed for a long time now but I've never used it for that (only for getting the metadata)... ;-)
    I'll try with unsynced player.
    Keep you posted.
    Thanks

What is the verison of the player ?

Old versions of Squeezelite-X and Squeezelite (maybe part of Daphile) have known bugs. IIRC some old version also cannot play AAC natively

The player runs the latest beta version of Daphile:

    Player Model: Daphile
    Player Type: daphile
    Firmware: 20.08-b040759

    Thanks

Unfortunately this tells me nothing useful about the player and its LMS capabilities.

Can it play AAC natively ?.

    edit:

from Daphuile website "Daphile is based on the open source Squeezebox Server, Squeezelite and Linux."

What version of Squeezelite does Daphile use ? What are the build options ?

    edit 2:

As Daphile is a black hole in terms of details. Better to stick with Squeezelite-X as the test player as full details are available

What version of Squeezelite-X are you using ? Which version of Squeezelite is bundled with it ?

I'm trying the latest version of LMS (LogitechMediaServer-8.0.0-1601455867) with the plugin of Paul running FIP, AAC version.
So far I have no stop of the stream which is great.
I've checked the logs and I've found that the streams are using http and NOT httpS...
Keep you posted if it remains stable.
    Thanks for your support !
    Best.

Unfortunately in less than 1 hour I had 4 stream stops.
    The latest log is:

ANd yes Daphile plays AAC/FLAC etc.
It worked without issue and the same player with late August LMS version.

Are you sure you enabled player.source to INFO. There are a whole lot of message missing ?

    [20-10-01 19:15:43.1587] Slim::Networking::Async::connect (114) Failed to connect to cdn.radiofrance.fr:443, because
    [Net::HTTP: connect: timeout
Timeouts are often an indication of the "https "problem although it is not clear what URL is being accessed. Port 443 is a port associated with https.

    "Natively" ? Without transcoding ?
Without the log message with player.source set to INFO from the before the stream has started playing - you cannot be sure about transcoding.

The "end of file" message means - the input connection from FIP has broken down for some reason. The above fragment show two breaks. This would indicate a network error but need proper log to understand how connection is set up.

How is the LMS server connected to internet ?
