    FYI: Most examples on the internet make things a lot more complicated by using a python script.

    That's great thanks - I've got some reading and learning to do!

    PS - making more sense now, I was looking for overlays as a pCP specific thing, but it's an RPi thing, I'd already crossed elements of this controlling the PoE hat fan thresholds in config.txt on a Pi4 but didn't realise quite what I was doing, even though it worked.
    I've got some other projects in mind that will need my better understanding to proceed - so once again thanks for the links.
