When streaming from LMS, I believe rendering is done on the server itself, which means this is possibly a server configuration change that would help.

It's a different story for bluetooth/airplay, though, and I believe Philippe included accents when he coded the display component.

    Cannot get out of recovery

    Hi

this may have been covered but...

I have a wrover-r and followed the first page of this thread and have logged into the device.

I cannot get the update page to work.

I can hit check for updates and the list populates and can select the given updates., this results in the URL field being populated.

Hitting Flash flash firmware does one of two things, nothing much or the process starts and promptly bricks the device.

I can recover by going back to Esp. download tool and starting again, but this is a partial reset as the device re joins my wifi network.

I have exacly the same result if i down load the file from the given URL and do a manual update.

I also get this when doing a manual update.

    Î
Error: Failed to execute HTTP download. ERROR

    Thanks for any help.

Could you please attach a log file and explain your setup? There are numerous configurations possible and not knowing yours makes it difficult to help

Ok. Since the crash happens after logging is redirected to telnet, the first thing to do is to change the option under system/services to have logging on both telnet and serial. Once this is done, you can reboot the device, keeping the serial monitoring opened, and proceed with the installation. If you have a GitHub account, please open a discussion under Q&A so we can discuss the specifics of your issue. You could post the root cause/resolution here.

    Displaying characters with diacritics

Yes, when I play something over Bluetooth, some accents are completely missing - in the https://github.com/sle118/squeezelit...llback_11x13.c are some chars empty (110-142), I can try to fill them in, but still some characters would be missing.

The server side logic is here https://github.com/Logitech/slimserv...y/Lib/Fonts.pm, it uses the BMP fonts and as a supplement TTF fonts from https://github.com/Logitech/slimserv...c/8.3/Graphics, so that probably causes the different character appearance.
I've tried all the options from server configuration and sometimes it's worse, sometimes better - the smaller the font, the less visible the difference is.

For everyone else interested, the root cause was identified and a solution implemented.

The takeaway here is do not install the 32 bits version if you want to output audio to a BT speaker. Even if that worked, it wouldn't make much sense in the end, as audio gets compressed anyhow in A2DP.

I saw an article for wireless speakers that are self charging (the speaker is covered in solar panels). It uses Bluetooth . I am afraid I am not technically minded enough to know if this will work with ESP-32. Can anybody comment?
