I've set up LMS on R Pis, but never on an ESP 8266 I have a couple of model 12F around. Will these do well as players?

    GPIO expander

I've now validated PCA9535 and MCP23017. The good news is that it seems to be fast enough to support a rotary encoder as well. I now have a working configuration with, on the same I2C, a display (SSD1306 128x64) a green led, a rotary encoder and vol up/down buttons, all that spread between a PCA9535 and a MCP23017. This should help A1S board owners who are struggling with GPIOs

I read post #1. Didn't understand the differences in the devices until reading the other thread. Thus the nature of being new to ESP devices. Thanks for the friendly help....

I've highlighted that in the #1 post for future readers

    need help to recover

I need some help recovering one of these:
    Lilygo TTGO T7 V1.5 Mini32 ESP32-WROVER-B

I was trying to modify the behaviour of the green onboard LED (GPIO19). It was assigned to 'amp', which worked fine, but then I tried to move it to 'green' to see if I could limit the brightness. I think the last thing I did was enter green:50 in led_brigthness (indeed ':' and not '='). After rebooting, I couldn't get any response anymore.
I then attempted reflashing with v719, which I also did a few days ago without issue.
The final message out of the flashing tool is:
    Code:
is stub and send flash finish

If I connect with Putty, I see a lot of text scroll by in an apparent loop. Output attached. It seems to freak out around here:
    Code:
    I (1273) nvs_utilities: Initializing flash nvs
    I (1303) nvs_utilities: Initializing nvs partition settings
    I (1323) esp_app_main: Setting up telnet.
I (1323) telnet: ***Redirecting log output to telnet
Guru Meditation Error: Core 0 panic'ed (LoadProhibited). Exception was unhandled.
So maybe the settings aren't cleared with flashing?

Anything I can do to fix this?

    Thank you for that.
Hello phillipe, the offset option works. With this syntax the display is perfectly centered in my case:

    Code:
    "display_config": "SPI,width=160,height=128,cs=12,reset=0,back=19,speed=27000000,driver=ST7735:x=2:y=1,VFlip,rotate"
I was a bit surprised that in my case the x value shifts the image vertically downwards and the y value shifts the image horizontally to the right. I would have expected it the other way around.
I have to use the y value very carefully. Values above 2 lead to a completely shifted, unreadable text (see picture).

I am very happy with the solution in any case.

    Thank you very much!

    Yes, you are right.
You must use the Erase button to completely erase the memory. After that you can reflash the firmware and re-enter all settings.

    That did it! Thanks!
Pretty harsh punishment for being just a little bit of an idiot

I know that there are dangers here and there in parsing of nvs parameters and that’s really bad to fall into a boot because of a syntax error. But checking everything also requires more code and time and that’s also why there is the web guided interface. But I’ll look at what happened and see if it can do something
