My network captures showed that the squeezebox processes use http:// .

Wondering why the differences between http / https, I then update my DNS settings on my router to use google DNS vs. defaults from my ISP.

If you got adware it "feels" like the ISP's DNS is redirecting "http" traffic to insert ads assuming a browser is being used.

Not good practice if that is happening. IIRC some ISP used to required use of their DNS service to get "free" services (e.g. Facebook)

Alternative DNS as some users are suspicious of Google's DNS servers tracking requests.
    OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
    Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

Agreed, I was almost wondering if mysqueezbox.com had been hacked.

"https" is guaranteed to connect to destination but "http" can be redirected by ISP. However IIRC LMS uses http and has not changed over to https because many platforms running LMS may not have up to date SSL libraries.

    Restart LMS
Copy to a post entries from server.log around a message something like

I am using pi-hole so DNS is routed back to the pi-hole machine. I think the actual DNS server is Googles.

I just changed the DNS server on my work machine to cloudfare and I still get the same error.

    Darn...

Did you reboot windows after DNS change? ipconfig /flushdns did not do the trick for me.

Just tried the reboot now, didn't help. I was hopeful for a bit because home and office I have the same isp, but didn't help.

EDIT#1 tried it with my hotspot through verizon to rule out the isp, same error. This is pretty sad. Never had an issue like this with any software that
    was unsolvable.

Anything that can be done here? Anyone else have ideas. I can open the links in the log from the same machine, not understanding why it is timing out through LMS.

Both places are same ISP - so that is one common factor.

You could try Wireshark in your LMS machine to see what is happening.

I used a mobile hotspot the other day and still the same issue. I just installed wireshark and tried to connect but have no idea what I am looking at.

Didn't see anything about squeezebox just ip's.
