Strange. There was a new version of the patch which required uninstalling and reinstalling but I can't remember when that was but I'm pretty sure it was more than a few weeks ago.

I guess I need to figure out a way to log what player is not reporting
    the patch.

But if you went to Settings/Advanced/Info on the player, would it say
something about patches? Or do you have multiple Radios in your home?

I just updated to the 7/2 Nightly, and the message is gone.
(piCorePlayer installed the May 25th 8.0, didn't realize it wasn't current till an hr ago)

I have multiple radios. In Settings/Advanced/Squeezebox Info/Player Information doesn't say anything about patches that I can see.

I uninstalled the version comparison patch, the Radio restarted, re-installed the version comparison patch, Radio restarted. Restarted LMS (v8.0.0 7th July), message has gone.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this very delicate matter.

Does that mean that you hadn't installed the new version of the patch

    Nightly

I was on the most current nightly from January 20 with the last two digits of "69". I added another Touch to my system and I received the outdated firmware message on my information page despite the device being up to date. I reinstalled the nightly from a few days ago "61" and the message went away after restarting the media server.
