I would like to add these two IR stations to "My favourites" for playback using my Touch & SB Classic players:
Smooth Radio
https://www.smoothradio.com/northwest/radio/
Fix Radio
https://www.fixradio.co.uk/
Neither of which can be found by searching on the players themselves. I have tried to find the correct url to manually add to "my favourites" in the relevant section at mysqueezebox.com by looking for the relevant url in my browser, Firefox, Inspect Element option but am totally overwhelmed with all the available information.
Can anyone explain how I can do this? I even downloaded and installed a small app "The Stream Detector" add-on to Firefox but that has also not found anything.

Look up directory plugins first - lots of station are already there and save effort.
The station you want are in Radiofeeds UK and in the RadioNet plugins

Are you connecting players to LMS or MySB.com? LMS can use https, MySB.com cannot.
But even then those URL's are just web sites, not the actual streams themselves. You could try playing them on your computer and see if you can extract the actual stream URL.
But many stations limit playback to only a web player so they can display their ads which is what is paying for the streams.

If you don't have a LMS then
Smooth North East (there are about a doze regional Smooth stations)
http://media-ice.musicradio.com/SmoothNorthEastS.m3u
Fix London (there is also Manchester)
http://icy-e-04.sharp-stream.com/fixradio.aac.m3u
They are not https.

I found this stream URLs:
http://media-ice.musicradio.com:80/SmoothNorthWest
http://media-ice.musicradio.com/SmoothLondon
http://tx.sharp-stream.com/http_live.php?i=fixradio.mp3
If you are using your own Squeezebox Server and the material skin, then here is the procedure:1x Docker on QNAP TS-453B as LMS | 1x Raspberry Pi Zero W +PiCorePlayer v6.0.0-b7 as USB-Player + TEAC UD-501 USB-DAC + Phonitor Mini Headphone Amplifier + AKG K812 headphones | 2x SqueezeBox Classic | 1x Squeezbox Radio | 1x Raspberry Pi with HiFimeDIY ES9023 DAC +PiCorePlayer 6.0 | 1x Google Chromecast Audio with Arcam FMJ A22 + B&W Nautilus 805 | 1x Google Chromecast Audio with Philips Fidelio DS9000/12 | 1x Squeezelite on MacBook Pro Catalina

This works like a charm, thank you very much to both of you!
I do not have any server software installed on my PC, was reluctant to because the last time I let an application scan my music files it took the whole night! I basically only use the SB units for internet radio and wanted to add these two choices to my favourites in mysqueezebox.com, the above links worked perfectly.
In order to find the streaming url, do I need to download and run the LMS server as well?

If you don't want LMS to scan your music files - point LMS at an empty folder.
In order to find the streaming url, do I need to download and run the LMS server as well?
There are other ways to find the URLs but as you found out it can be hard - sites do not want to give the URL to be played on a generic player - they want the user to play on their website/player and look at their ads.

And, indeed, those stations are also in the RadioFeeds app in MySqueezeBox.com, which doesn't require LMS.
ews2k, you can easily add to favorites from the directory without needing to know stream addresses.
I'd also recommend choosing the mp3 streams as they'll sound better than the AAC+ streams you've been given in the posts.
Also, your SB Classic probably won't support the playing of the AAC+ streams.RadioFeeds UK & Ireland.. an up-to-date radio directory for your Squeezebox/Transporter/UE Smart Radio.. available from the mysqueezebox.com App Gallery.
Bonus: our RadioFeeds LMS plugin also lists AAC and the BBC's high-quality HLS streams on top of what's available in our MSB app.
Now with over 1000 registered users, it's available for Logitech Media Server (and Squeezebox Server, SqueezeCenter and SlimServer).

This time I used the plugin Radio.net and found:
Smooth Radio London: https://media-ice.musicradio.com/SmoothLondonMP3
Fix Radio: https://edge-audio-03-gos2.sharp-str...m/fixradio.mp31x Docker on QNAP TS-453B as LMS | 1x Raspberry Pi Zero W +PiCorePlayer v6.0.0-b7 as USB-Player + TEAC UD-501 USB-DAC + Phonitor Mini Headphone Amplifier + AKG K812 headphones | 2x SqueezeBox Classic | 1x Squeezbox Radio | 1x Raspberry Pi with HiFimeDIY ES9023 DAC +PiCorePlayer 6.0 | 1x Google Chromecast Audio with Arcam FMJ A22 + B&W Nautilus 805 | 1x Google Chromecast Audio with Philips Fidelio DS9000/12 | 1x Squeezelite on MacBook Pro Catalina
