Does that remain true even for nutjobs like me who currently have
    117,680 tracks?

Not trying to challenge or confront, I'm genuinely curious. I'm
currently running my main server on an older Pi that I assume only has
1GB and it works fine. Just wondering if scanning could be faster,
though I'll bet the MicroSD card is the real bottleneck.

hard to say. My library is 113,590 tracks, mostly FLAC files. Scanning is almost as fast on my rPi3B+ as on my win 10, 64 machine with 8 cores.

that said, I just bought 2 rPi4 and got the 4GB models. Not needed, but why not. Relatively speaking, the most expensive rPi is still dirt cheap. I spend way more than $75 per week on average on CDs.

I'm using a 3+ now and had to increase the swap file because tinysql was using every memory and swap available

Very impressive! And pretty much my philosophy, too: At that price,
might as well max it out. If I don't need it, no harm done. If it's
    useful later, I've got it!

It requires a new 64 bit OS to get to the 8gb.
Time for new versions of everything.
Good news for the docker/kubernetes folks.
