    wpa_supplicant wifi setup with 'space-bars' in SSID and pass?

    Hi all,

    I'm trying to setup a Raspberry Pi Zero W with PcP, but fail at connecting to my wifi (basically failing at step #1...)

    As stated in the howto; the wpa-supplicant file doesn't play nice with spaces and special characters, but doesn't say how to go about it. What format do I need to enter the details, preferably without changing the SSIDs and passwords of the Wifi networks.

    Thanks, Nelis

    Create wpa_supplicant.conf on your SD card boot partition 1 using template below.

    Change only country, Your SSID and P@ssword.

    Formatting is important! Must leave # Maintained by user and double quotes.

    Code:
    # Maintained by user
    ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
    ctrl_interface_group=staff
    # Two Character Country Code
    country=US
    update_config=1

    network={
            ssid="Your SSID"
            psk="P@ssword"
            key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
            auth_alg=OPEN
    }

    Hi Greg, thanks for your reply. I got what you said, however both the SSID and the password have spaces/spacebars (and capital letters, by the way) in them. Iĺm looking for the right format for the PcP to accept it and connect.

    I found out it uses ASCII characters, but Iĺm still puzzled on how to properly syntax the SSID and pass.

    See the example posted
    Put your values inside the quotes to replace the values shown
    Code:
            ssid="Your SSID"
            psk="P@ssword"
