    Certain streams won't play when players are synced

    [First post of this thread is mostly noise - seems like the issue is to do with synced players]

    Something has happened recently where quite a few streams I listen to have flipped over to HTTPS. Seems like LMS is struggling with this. For example, TSF Jazz [have had to mess with the URL for it to post]:

    [20-05-25 12:34:10.7257] Slim::Player::Song::open (471) Warning: stream failed to open [hxxps: // tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch / tsfjazz-high.mp3]

    It very briefly says it's a 128k stream [which is correct] but then fails to play it. I can play it just fine with Qmmp on my desktop. Looking at a packet capture, the SSL negotiation happens so it knows it's HTTPS and isn't just trying HTTP.

    I was using 7.9.2 and tried updating to 7.9.3 today to address this but it has made no difference. Any ideas?

    You don;t say which OS you are using.

    Check the version of your SSL library - WebUI Settings/Information
    The IO::Socket::SSL should be at least 2.x
    You may also need to update some other OS libarry such as Net::SSLeay

    Is that URL from their website? I can play TSF Jazz from the Radio menu.

    Yes, it is....I hadn't even tried using the radio menu to find it! The HTTP stream from the Radio menu is fine [well, I'm just getting silence now but the timer is counting up and I have track information so that's a problem at my end for me to troubleshoot].

    Silence and counter ticking - means nothing. Just that you started to play an URL - does not mean connection.
    Track info is supplied separately from streaming URL when using Tunein.

    That seems to be the same as the TuneIn stream but without metadata.

    Can also use
    http://tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch/tsfjazz-high.mp3
    https://tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch/tsfjazz-high.mp3

    When Tune-in is used - LMS recognises the Tune.in playlist and finds the metadata as it is not in-stream

    edit:

    One of those is the one which failed for OP but plays OK for me.

    This is driving me nuts - everyone else can play this station with any of a multitude of URLs, but not me!
    Finally worked out how to turn up the debugging a bit:
    Code:
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.1283] Slim::Player::Protocols::HTTP::canDirectStream (266) [60:45:cb:70:28:bc] Not direct streaming because player is synced
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.1286] Slim::Formats::RemoteStream::open (69) Opening connection to http://tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch/tsfjazz-high.mp3: [tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch on port 80 with path /tsfjazz-high.mp3 with timeout 18]
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.1722] Slim::Formats::RemoteStream::request (140) Request: GET /tsfjazz-high.mp3 HTTP/1.0
    Cache-Control: no-cache
    Connection: close
    Accept: */*
    Host: tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch
    User-Agent: iTunes/4.7.1 (Linux; N; Debian; x86_64-linux; EN; utf8) SqueezeCenter, Squeezebox Server, Logitech Media Server/7.9.3/1590229251
    Icy-Metadata: 1

    [20-05-25 15:59:35.2278] Slim::Formats::RemoteStream::request (147) Response: HTTP/1.0 200 OK
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.2306] Slim::Player::Protocols::HTTP::parseHeaders (476) Setting new title for http://tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch/tsfjazz-high.mp3, TSF Jazz
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.2314] Slim::Player::Protocols::HTTP::parseHeaders (487) Bitrate for http://tsfjazz.ice.infomaniak.ch/tsfjazz-high.mp3 set to 128000
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.2320] Slim::Formats::RemoteStream::request (208) Opened stream!
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.3274] Slim::Player::Protocols::HTTP::readMetaData (114) Metadata: StreamTitle='';
    [20-05-25 15:59:35.3295] Slim::Player::Squeezebox2::directHeaders (470) Processing headers for direct streaming:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Server: Logitech Media Server (7.9.3 - 1590229251)
    Connection: close
    Content-Type: audio/mpeg
    From the web interface and the log output, it looks like it's working. If I do a packet capture with tcpdump, I can see the audio being streamed from the URL, but all I get on either player is silence. The packet capture grows to about 1.4MB then it stops. Nothing further is logged.
