Glad I found this thread after running my SBT into the same „Verify Ethernet Connection“ loop, so thanks for the solution provided here.
My Wifi is dead, too (hardly ever used it). There seem to be other side effects, my SBT refused to connect to a new server or mysb, that‘s where my troubles started.
Some days ago I bought a second (used) SBT for another room - maybe the first one got jealous ;-)

same here
I ran into the exact same problems (no wlan0 shown in ifconfig or iwconfig) only that a downgrade via SD Card to the specified old FW does not have any effect still no wlan0 in the system.
Maybe depends on the version the SBT was delivered with....only a guess that a rollback to that specific one may help to overcome that. Can of course also be a defect in the HW chip of the marvell device.
So for me no luck there
best regards,
Armin

I'm still using mine, not so much perhaps, but I still find it useful.
This one has the new Bullseye OS (it's a bit beta, but workable)
https://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/vi...php?f=2&t=5169
I have a passive USB hub round the back holding the OS on a usb stick, and at the moment, an Apple USB-C headphone adaptor
It's using the internal Wi-Fi and runs, Squeezelite, Jivelite and LMS 8.3 with 32 bit binaries.
