Setup: new VM running Win 7/64, firewall disabled on the host and the VM itself

I did some network tracing while the authentication was executing to see what's going on, and can see a failed http call from a Spotify process.

Tried several times -resetting the ip address, checking available networks, etc- and it always fails. Looks to me like something on Spotify's side.

The call it makes and the payload can be seen here

It's trying to post to a local machine endpoint, but errors with ConnectionRefused (0x274d).

My goal is to stream Spotify in order to bypass the Windows mixer, so I will try other things
I will keep checking this board for any breakthroughs.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if I can be of any help.

    Spotify: authentication with Spottyfailure

What application do these screenshots come from? The UA string has
nothing to do with Spotty. Nor would anything I know about Spotty do an
    "action?addUser" or similar...

Could you please share your server.log file with us?

    Spotify: authentication with Spottyfailure

I'm seeing quite a few network related issues (Radio Paradise,
SuperDateTime, Spotty). Would you have a firewall filtering outgoing
traffic? Could be Windows' own, or something on your router?

All I can see about Spotty is it's timing out trying to reach Spotify's
    servers.

Believe it or not, I started up the PC after shutting it down overnight and it's working now. I feel like a total noob, as I should have tried that earlier; in my defense, other music sources were working fine, so I took the error message at face value.

Thanks for the remote laying of healing hands on my server!
