    Michael,

Just to add some more info to my Spotty issue.

I have 4 devices that are controlled via Spotty and I have a Denon AV amplifier that has native spotify connect support.

This issue of the device showing up in the device list but when you play to the device it doesnt play audio and the device selection is lost on Spotify occurs only for the Spotty connected devices. If i choose the Denon it works fine. I was able to see this happen a couple of times at the same time when i was having the issue with the Spotty devices.

What is also interesting is that this occurs only when connecting via the Spotify native app (either Windows or Android).

If i use the Squeezer Android app and then select the same device i am having problem with and browse to Squeezer->MyApps->Spotty and search and play music it works just fine!

Is there any debugging information i can turn on to give you more information?

    Regards
    Sanjay

Spotty option: Monitor the connection of the Spotty Connect helper with the Spotify

For couple of days, I have been having trouble with selecting a Spotty device.
When I click on the device in Spotify app, it shows it in green highlight and then immediately de-select it.
Spotty device would disappear from the list and then, moments later, re-appear.

This morning I set the option in Spotty settings and like magic, the device stays selected and
    of course, plays music!

Please someone explain what is happening...

This is the bug that i described two days ago and Michael said he still doesn't know why. See my comments in the last two days and his response.

    thanks for the heads-up.
for now, things are stable here with that monitor-option checked.
i did notice the following log entries:

[20-07-07 10:20:55.0000] Plugins::Spotty::Connect:aemonManager::checkAPIConnectPlayers (208) Connect daemon is running, but not connected - shutting down to force restart: dc:a6:32:4e:be:ab buster

my obvious conjecture is that with that option set, Connect device can revive itself...

UPDATE: well, the problem is back with the "monitor-connection" option still set.
one thing to note is that i can play Spotify using the LMS webUI just fine, except for the fact that Spotify does not seem to be aware
that it is streaming to the connected device.

Squeezelite is launched through Squeezelite-X with "-c flac,pcm,mp3,ogg,aac,wma,dsd" so ogg should be supported, yes.

I also keep on having songs stopping in the middle of playback and moving to the next track with two different Squeezelite installations. This doesn't appear to be happening with Squeezebox Boom (passthrough OGG working), but it's a problem because I'm using sox on Squeezelite installations to equalize. I've tried activating spotty debug but I couldn't see anything specific apart from the following. Please advise on what I should do to try and debug this.
    Code:
    [20-07-08 01:51:34.0035] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (270) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70: StatusHeartbeat in PLAYING-STREAMING -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_CheckSync

Perfect means that no position or secondary tags is missing in which case the rule with higher score prevails. So if spt flc rule is reached and flc codec appears first in the list squeezelite returned, here you go. There is no notion of multi rules or weight of identical rules. I’ve introduced a solution to have multiple transcoding for the same codec pair, but more test is needed and it’s not a solution to rank amongst identical rules anyway
