First of all, pardon my naive questions.

When you say "integrate local library", I see you mention favorites. I add an album as a favorite and I should find it in my local library, correct? Would it be under the correct artist, if the relevant tag is the same?
Thinking about using this to fill in "the blanks" for some artists I like, for whom I'd like to have the whole discography. Is that possible this way?

Also, if at a later date I buy a CD for an album I have added as a favorite (hence positioning it in the local library, if my assumption is correct), would removing it from Spotify's favorites be enough to remove it from local library (where it would be substituted by my personal rip)?

Yes. "the same" sometimes is difficult to get, though...

Yes, that's part of the idea.

It wouldn't substitute the local copy, but sit there side by side with
it. Until you remove it from the service's favorites.

Michael how does Spotty stream from Spotifys servers now libspotify is depreciated - is this using the webplayer API / SDK?

I expected this to break with the May 2022 depreciation of libspotify.

Spotty does not use libspotify - it uses librespot
    https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot
librespot is an open source client library for Spotify. It enables applications to use Spotify's service to control and play music via various backends, and to act as a Spotify Connect receiver. It is an alternative to the official and now deprecated closed-source libspotify.
