    Yeah, re. the above, I assembled a "frankenstein" custom-convert line to test the idea.

    Code:
    spt ogg * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70
    	# RB:{BITRATE=--abr %B}T:{START=--start-position %s}
    	[spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [lame] -r --silent -q $QUALITY$ $BITRATE$ - - | [sox] -q -t mp3 - -t ogg -C 7 - gain -6.9 equalizer 30 0.43q +6.2 equalizer 699 2.00q +1.0 equalizer 2924 4.11q -1.7 equalizer 6031 5.05q -6.2 equalizer 9825 4.08q +2.2 equalizer 83 4.24q +1.3 equalizer 209 1.54q -1.2 equalizer 2842 0.1q +0.2 equalizer 12443 1.29q +2.7 equalizer 19698 0.46q -11.8
    I disabled all other conversions and checked player.source debug, the line gets used and plays perfectly each and every song. I guess the problem has something to do with buffer somehow. Anybody has any idea? Buffer in sox? Buffer in Squeezelite? It's strange because I have convert.conf stuff much more complex than this giving me no problem, with flac output.

    Waiting for solution/suggestions, I've settled on using -C 10 for recompressing to Ogg Vorbis at around 500 kbps. With this it works flawlessly, although transcoding from lossy to lossy it's not exactly perfect...
    Code:
    spt ogg * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70
    	# RB:{BITRATE=--abr %B}T:{START=--start-position %s}
    	[spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox] -q --endian little -t s16 -r 44100 -c 2 - -t ogg -C 10 - gain -6.9 equalizer 30 0.43q +6.2 equalizer 699 2.00q +1.0 equalizer 2924 4.11q -1.7 equalizer 6031 5.05q -6.2 equalizer 9825 4.08q +2.2 equalizer 83 4.24q +1.3 equalizer 209 1.54q -1.2 equalizer 2842 0.1q +0.2 equalizer 12443 1.29q +2.7 equalizer 19698 0.46q -11.8
    EDIT

    Well, in the end nothing that hours and hours (and hours) of trial and error couldn't fix. :-D

    I've raised the buffer for Squeezelite with the -b argument and processed files work just fine with this line:
    Code:
    spt flc * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70
    	# RT:{START=--start-position %s}
    	[spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox] -q --endian little -t s16 -r 44100 -c 2 - -t flac -C 0 -b 24 - gain -6.9 equalizer 30 0.43q +6.2 equalizer 699 2.00q +1.0 equalizer 2924 4.11q -1.7 equalizer 6031 5.05q -6.2 equalizer 9825 4.08q +2.2 equalizer 83 4.24q +1.3 equalizer 209 1.54q -1.2 equalizer 2842 0.1q +0.2 equalizer 12443 1.29q +2.7 equalizer 19698 0.46q -11.8
    I hope not to have bored anybody. I document this in case in the future somebody will need something similar.

    I guess you're talkinga bout Spotty, not Putty :-)

    You don't happen to be living in Germany, using a cable connection?

    Hello Michael,

    Spotty not Putty

    And you are right, I live in Germany using a Unitymedia (now Vodafone) cable connection with a FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable Modem ... do you already have an idea what the problem could be?

    Regards

    [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate locallibrary with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

    Yeah, Unitymedia seems to have a problem with http (non secured)
    connections on the CDN I'm using. I'll switch to https, and you should
    be good in a bit. But then others will fail...

    Ok, thanks. Is there any short-term workaround I can try myself?

    UPDATE: Did you already change something? I think the installation just has worked...

    UPDATE2: Yes, it worked. Spotty v4.2.0 is running. Thanks
    Unfortunately I am running in the next hurdle: On the Squeezebox clients I now get the error message "IO:Socket::SSL is missing" whilte LMS status also containts "IO::Socket::SSL: Nothing". Is there an easy fix? I will also check the forum again as other users have reported the same problem with older PCP verisions.

    UPDATE3: Nach ein paar Reboots hat sich das "IO:Socket::SSL is missing" nun auch gel÷st.

    Regards

    Hi Michael,

    I would like to spend a couple of Euros again for your nice plugin & your reliable support.

    Can I still use the PayPal Donate Button on www.herger.net/slim?

    I hope that other users have also found this button and will continue to support your work in the future

    Regards

    when Spotty device cannot be selected

    hi michael,
    just to follow up, the issue of not being able to transfer playback to the Spotty device is inconsistent.
    usually in the morning when both LMS and squeezelite boot up, i can select the device and as long as i leave it alone, it plays just fine.
    but if i change to another device and try to re-select the Spotty device, it will not work.
    at that point in time, the log shows the following entry:

    [20-07-10 07:45:02.0192] Plugins::Spotty::Connect:aemonManager::checkAPIConnectPlayers (208) Connect daemon is running, but not connected - shutting down to force restart: dc:a6:32:4e:be:ab buster

    and in a minute or so, the device re-appears in the device list.
    whether it can be selected or not is random it seems....

    SpotifyConnect disconnects at the start of short tracks

    Hi Michael,

    Continuing from my earlier bug report with attached server log.

    https://forums.slimdevices.com/showt...l=1#post981393

    This is definitely an ongoing problem for me. I've now confirmed it happens for most of the short tracks on Pink Flag, and has occurred several more times on other short tracks. Eg. Minutemen - Paranoid Chant, Minor Threat - Minor Threat.

    This happens on Squeezelite-X, a squeezebox 2, and on a Squeezebox Touch (I can test on a SB3 if needed, but I'm pretty sure I'll see the same again). I haven't modified buffer settings on any of these (I'm confident of this, because I have no idea how to modify these settings at the moment). All of these connect by different topologies - sketch below.

    I'm very happy to do my own debugging/troubleshooting, but it'd be great to get some pointers on where I should start. I'm running LMS on Windows, I've got some ancient history in perl that I can lean on if needed, will have an RPi 4 sometime later in the year if this will be a better platform for debugging. Any direction you can provide would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Larry

    Server -> Router -> Wifi -> SBT
    Server -> Router -> Direct Ethernet -> Squeezelite-X
    Server -> Router -> Powerline Ethernet -> Squeezebox 2

    The problem occurs with the Spotify Windows desktop app, the Windows Browser client, and the IOS app.

    No, then 429s you should see as warnings.

    Now this morning the issue with the player disconnecting on pause has returned. The Daemon doesn't crash though as the player is still listed under devices and I can reselect it but next time I pause (or the song ends) the player disconnects.
