Because that's definitely not Spotify's model. AFAIK it's still one
    account, one playback.
No. Only either Android or macbook is being used at any given time using the same account.

Let's hope some of these issues will be fixed once I get there.
Any luck with adopting the latest librespot?

    Thanks,
    Tom

back to basics question on spotty

    hello michael,
this is my understanding of basic flow of streaming bits from spotify:

    sqzlite/rpi4 <-------- spotty/lms <-------- spotify

if this is correct, is there practical advantage of running lms inside rpi4,
so as to eliminate some lan traffic?

please set me straight on this...

That's correct (though I would have reversed the arrows ;-)).

I doubt it. What problem are you trying to solve? And it would only
eliminate the traffic for that one instance of Squeezelite. If you have
more than one player then it's irrelevant.

in my current setup of rpi/allo, when i play spotty,
it often stops after some number of tracks and i have to manually kick-start it
by either next or previous function. rpi/allo is now hardwired ethernet, so internet connection is pretty solid.

so, i'm considering getting another streamer in addition to rpi/allo combo:
som-200 neo and lumin u1 mini.
som is more like rpi/allo in that it has sqlite/lms support whereas
    lumin has built-in spotify.
so, besides hardware quality, i was evaluating the software setup advantages.
if you have any more thoughts, please...

If you're using the Connect feature, then this, unfortunately, is a
    known issue.

    Spotty stopped working

    Michael

All of a sudden I see spotty has stopped working on my pi zero.

I notice the spotty plugin has been upgraded to 4.5.0

I have tried to update the picore player 7.0.0 and all plugins etc and restarted picore. The version details are below.

    piCorePlayer v7.0.0 | www v00011 | linux 5.4.83-pcpCore | piCore v12.0pCP | Squeezelite v1.9.9-1386-pCP.

The error I see on the Spotify settings page is as follows :

There has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. You might want to give the additional "Spotty Legacy Helper for ARM" plugin a try.

    Operating system: piCore / armv7l-linux

    Helper Applications Folder:
    /usr/local/slimserver/Bin/armhf-linux
    /usr/local/slimserver/Bin
    /usr/local/sbin
    /usr/local/bin
    /sbin
    /usr/sbin
    /bin
    /usr/bin
    /usr/local/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin
    /usr/local/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/arm-linux
    ldd (GNU libc) 2.31

I did try the legacy spotty helper as suggested but that did not work so I uninstalled it.

I also tried uninstalling the spotty plugin and reinstalling the plugin. That did not help.

    Any ideas?

    Regards
    Sanjay

I'm sorry for that. You're not alone, see the 4.5 announcement thread:

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114726

I actually thought Spotty had not worked on the Pi0 all the time! So I
didn't pay much attention to it. I'll see what I can do.
