This has nothing to do with Spotty. Please post to a relevant thread, or
start a new one. Thanks!

I tracked down the reason the Pre-buffering box was being enabled. I had another squeezelite instance which I don't use which also had the high buffer settings
.
That still leaves the issue where "Clean up album and track titles" is checked after every LMS restart.

I opened spotty.prefs in Notepad++ then unchecked "Clean up titles" and clicked apply. Immediately Notepad++ informed me that the file has been modified so I reloaded it and could see that "cleanuptags" had been cleared
I restarted LMS and spotty.prefs had not changed.
When I opened Spotty settings, Notepad++ again informed me that spotty.prefs had changed and sure enough "cleanuptags" had been set to 1.
So the act of opening Spotty settings after LMS restarts changes the tick box setting. Any other time Spotty settings is opened DOES NOT change the tick box setting.
I hope this is enough info to fix it

Oh, I think I know what's going on now. I believe that sometimes the
settings when disabled would be undefined rather than an empty string or
zero. In that case the value gets re-initialized on next startup.
I'm not sure whether this is a Perl or YAML module version thing, or the
browser. I'll add some validation.

Quality Settings / Best output?
Hi,
I connected my SBT to my AVR via optical out. In spotty settings I set quality to extreme (320kbps).
When playing a song LMS shows it as follows:
Is this the best possible setting for the sound quality? Or is there anything that can be improved?
In Tidal for example there is flac playback:

Mine converts to 705kbps CBR to FLAC, which I think is the standard setting. Since Spotify does 320k max (which IMO sounds awesome for well recorded albums, and with badly recorded ones it doesn't matter anyhow) I doubt anyone will hear a difference by up-scaling to PCM at the traditional 1.4Mbps.
Gruss aus Kalifornien!
PS: Totally unrelated, but since I connected the LMS at my GF's via 1GE (instead of WiFi) there have been no issues with Spotty at all, so it was networking related in some odd way.Last edited by pablolie; 2021-01-17 at 14:24.
