    Compilations in different Windows directories appear in different VA folders

    Hi - I have a load of compilation tracks, in which I have set the following tags
    Album = "My Compilation Songs",
    Album Artist = "Various Artists"
    Artist = various different artist names
    COMPILATION = 1

    The files are located in various Windows directories. They all get correctly listed in My Music->Artist->Various Artists. But there they appear in several different folders called "My Compilation Songs", one folder for each Windows directory. How do I combine them so they appear in one "My Compilation Songs" folder in LMS? obviously I could just put them in one Windows directory, but I am hoping to find another solution.

    LMS assumes titles in different folders to be from different albums. If
    you want to have them in one (virtual) album you'll have to throw them
    all in the same folder, as you figured out yourself :-)

    OR

    Remove the Album Artist tag that says "Various Artists" - LMS will categorise albums with different track artists and NO Album Artist as being Compilations (with or without COMPILATION=1 tag) and will chuck them all together under whatever you specify under Settings / My Music - the English language default is "Various Artists"

    I'm surprised Michael didn't say this as an alternative. Arguably it is the intended methodology. I said "Arguably" on purpose as I know there are others who like to set COMPILATION=1 as their preferred route.

    Apologies. I have just re-read the original post properly. The "Album" tag may still cause a problem here.
