Examples of Raspberry dac's that would be comparable to a Touch analog out

    Hi all,
A friend gave me a raspberry 3+ and and I would like to turn it into a "SQB player". Own several Touch and know what it's capable of. So as in title, any ideas of in what price level one needs to be for a comparable SQ to a Touch analog out? I'm not really interested in USB Dac,so mainly HAT suggestions please. I looked at the HiFiberry Dac+ Pro XLR mainly for the XLR option which suits what I've in mind very well. But please, RCA suggestions would also be OK. Anyone compared a Touch to a HiFberry Dac?

I've never owned a touch, However I have a HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro (not XLR) and that sounds really good to me.
I also have not long ago bought a IQaudio PiDAC PRO with XLR's Have not used it balanced yet but on phono I think this sounds slightly better than the DAC+ Pro

Ok, cheers for input. I see you've some SQB classics V3. How do you feel they compare with your Rpi Dac's then?

Personally (and subjectively) I like the IQaudio Pi-DAC Pro significantly more and the HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro moderately better than the SB3.

Having said that my SB3's are quite old now and the caps are a known problem

Here previous owner of a SB Touch. Couple of years ago made the jump to Raspi2 (running both LMS server and player) + IQAudio Pi DAC+ (unbalanced RCA).
Could not tell the difference between both DACs.
Take into account I'm +50 and much as I enjoy my amp (Nad C352) + loudspeakers (AE Evo1) for their "musicality", I know "detail" is not the best.

I'll probably get rid of the Pi2 + IQaudio now because I need a Raspi4 and don't dare to put a HAT on that. Will be using a Khadas Tone Board (USB DAC instead).

You can find some measurements of DAC boards at Audio Science Review:

You want to select "DAC (Bareboard)" as the hardware type.

    Why wouldn't you put a hat on a pi 4 ?
